Here Tom, took a few photos of my under hood area. I just cracked 69K miles. Definitely not as much oil near that joint as your truck, but there is a bit of oil in that pipe. However it’s no more than some of my tier 4/Emissions turbodiesels at work.
My turbo plumbing also has a little bit of oil on it, but yours look a little wetter than mine do. I've got my fingers crossed for you that it is a simple issue. Or at the very least it is completely covered under warranty! I'll try and post a few pictures for you when the sun is out.
I have had the AT3W's on my truck now for 2.5 years and almost 60k miles. I'm very happy with their ride quality, noise level, and as well as their traction. Mud, gravel, rain, and snow, these have seen it all and impressed me quite a bit. Most of those 60k miles are highway but the tread is...
So my scanner read it as “fuel injection quantity lower than expected.” Loosely this translated to an injector having a partial clog. Only symptom I felt from the drivers seat was a very intermittent and minor hesitation when accelerating out of stop light. Best of luck with it Tom!
Never had this issue with my truck, but I have had issues with diesel machinery and other vehicles. The best thing to help clear its throat would be bringing it out on the highway and getting the engine nice and warm and letting it breathe for a while. The truck will automatically run a regen if...
Well, just got the truck back from the dealer. Had them address a glow plug issue while it was there. Pump was installed with 68,988 miles on the truck. 22 miles on the new fuel pump, too early to tell if there’s any difference in performance or MPG. I suspect it will all be exactly the same.
I did the math 2.5 years ago when I put my tires on, I wanna say I got 3.62 after my chalkboard was filled up. approximately 2,000 RPM at 75 MPH.
Edit: @Idahoktm, that site would have saved me lots of chalk dust^
When I ordered my truck all three gear sets were on the order sheet, however only the 3.92 was available with the E Locker, so that’s the box I checked
I run about 70/30 Highway/City and change mine every 5k with Pennz Ultra Platinum Euro. My intake definitely has some soot in it, but it's not clogged yet. I'd be curious if your truck had an EGR or PCV issue that caused the intake to get trashed. 9k is a lengthy oil change in my eyes, but I'm...
Makes me feel odd for having bought an EcoDiesel truck too, only put that motor in the 5th gens for 3 years, suppose that it was just another experiment too :(.
As someone who is right behind you in mileage, I’m a little anxious. How often did you change your oil? Did you go by mileage or by meter in the gauge cluster?
Some of them are Snake Oil, but some of them do provide additional lubricity to the fuel which keeps high pressure fuel pumps and injection pumps happy, and others have detergents/dispersants that help keep your injector nozzles clean. They're all either cheap insurance, or a placebo to keep...
