All emissions stuff is bad and should be removed post haste! lol. Every single aftermarket intake system will not retain the carbon filter, it wont hurt anything to take it out.

If you are in there to replace the stock filter with a drop in aftermarket, you may as well remove the carbon filter. Just the carbon on its own was not noticeable in my opinion, but with both the K and N and the filter delete it was just enough to get a touch more noise. Maybe a couple HP but...

Glad your truck is also problem free! I certainly love mine and agree that bad news often drowns out all of the happy owners out there. What specific drive-ability improvements did you get with the pulsar?

I pulled it, no noticeable gain in sound or power. If you are installing an aftermarket filter my opinion is that you might as well pull it... if you gain a few hp from deleting it and a few more from the new filter it might be worth it, and who doesn't like free mods?

I would think it would be similar to the laramie tested by car and driver, 22" wheels probably slow it down by a tenth but 3:92 gears should get that back. 5.9 -6.2 seconds should be close.

I would like to see this as well, lots of lifted trucks around now but not many lowered.

what i want to see is a cross hair / gen 4 style grill on a 5th gen. I'm surprised that they haven't been floating around all over the place as many people seem to lament the fact that the new trucks didn't retain that historic design feature.

I removed mine and would say it made little to no difference to the performance or sound. It does have carbon in it so it makes sense that it is for emissions. I was hoping for more intake noise but it isn't noticeable.
