Not happening at this point man! 6.4 is a killer motor but you would have to do it yourself. Also, the 3.0 HO has 600 more hp...totally different character but would walk a 6.4 for sure.
The SO is also way faster than the Hemi, motortrend tested it at 0-60 in 5.5 seconds in a 6300lb wagoneer L, which is more than a second quicker than the hemi short wheelbase version. Not much more power but a really wide torque curve and lots of low end torque. The rams usually weight 5600 lbs...
That was my assumption as well. Would be awesome to get the 540HP version in a sport or rebel trim but that doesnt seem to be the case. Probably just the TRX replacement and the luxury trucks.
Does anyone know in what trim levels the ho engine is available? I assume it would be limited to the higher trims...
For context, the standard output has the same hp and 10 more torque than the gm 6.2 which is their range topping 91 octane motor. The standard output does this with 89 octane...
Also, no one is boring out an engine and putting 40 over pistons in it anymore. This isn't a small block chevy from decades ago. When a hemi wears out off warranty it is way cheaper to buy a good junk yard motor from one of the millions of rams around and swap it in than it is to do a full...
Mine has 46 000 kms, the dealer repalced the studs and found both manifolds cracked, i was very annoyed as I thought they were replacing the manifolds the first time. After waiting a month for studs, now i have to wait another month for the manifolds to come in.
I had 35 x 12.5 R20 on my stock 20" sport rims- totally fine for mall crawling so would be surprised if they rubbed much on a rebel. I did have to run small spacers to clear the UCA.
22's and 20's on all of the 5th gen rams can be used interchangeably. I have run both on my trucks, and the on-road comfort and performance are totally unchanged. I am picky about how my vehicles drive, and the sidewall does not make a discernable difference on the street. Off road the 22's will...
Very cool! I think EV trucks will remain primarily lifestyle trucks for the near future- gas and hybrid trucks will continue alongside for those of us that want traditional trucks, and those that need towing range and some more affordability.
Ralph Gilles said the ICE trucks will continue to...
I currently have 35 x 12.5 R20 Falken tires on a stock ride height sport. It has 1/4 spacers on it and very minor rubbing now that I have trimmed the fender liners. The falkens are killer in snow for an all-terrain tire and pretty quiet on the highway. Will either level my truck to avoid...
The 3.0 probably pulls like a freight train at half throttle as well, the torque curve is massive so its unlikely that you will need to pin it all the way in normal use.

Some might not be excited by the small displacement, but you can't argue with the numbers!
You have to remember that Dodge and Ram have been under European ownership since 2014. (FCA). Everyone was terrified that it would be the end of iconic American performance but some of the best muscle cars jeeps and trucks were developed since that merger. The world is a changing place, and...
I guess it remains to be seen, I like my Hemi but this new motor family seems very promising. I believe the bmw B58 and S58 motors have a similar configuration and seem to be great motors so far, even when tuned.
When is the last time you did a full rebuild of an engine block in a late model truck? With hemi's and LS motors it is very rare, usually it is far less expensive to get another complete motor from the junk yard, especially if you are talking a full re-bore with new pistons etc. This new motor...
