So I’m confused. If extended warranty is not your preferred option, and you do your regular maintenance as scheduled, what advise are you looking for from this group? I’m not being flippant, I just don’t understand what the question is.
As I see it, in this situation you have two sources for parts. New or Used. If your part can’t be repaired, and new parts aren’t available, used it is.
I’m certainly in no position of knowledge but I’m left wondering if the hardware hasn’t proven to be the problem (yet?), have they looked at it as a software issue? Kinda like the old days of erasing a computer hard drive and reinstalling the software to get ride of bugs.
I had a similar experience with my 2020 about 3 years ago. Dealer upgraded software and it resolved it for a few years but downshifts are a bit harder now. Not as back as before though. Probably some learned algorithm based on my driving???
If that is a Retrax rolling cover, I went a couple rounds with them and they are well aware their design is at issue. They have sworn up and down that should the rubber fail as a result, it is covered u dear a lifetime warranty. I haven’t had to test them on it, and I suspect they will not honor...
I had issues with Goodyears back in the 80’s that required intervention from corporate. It worked out but took about 7 months. I will not have them on any vehicle And have gone so far as to have them swapped out if they were on a vehicle I was buying. Even walked from a deal over them.
I simply put my entire music collection on one of those mini thumb drives, plugged the drive into one of the USB ports in the back and Bob’s your uncle!
