Uconnect 5 Box requires service . . .

I had this same issue for the past year and a half. The radio was displaying that message and not receiving or sending updates. I finally took it to the dealer. They replaced the antenna and the telematics box. Everything has been working great for the past 2 months.

Welp...mine was good for a few months after they replaced some parts but it is back. I guess I will need to make an appointment and see what they say. No rhyme or reason when it pops up. Anyone else getting any better luck?

I had the same issue almost a year. They came and picked up my 22 Limited for an oil change and I told about this issue. They returned it later that day and said there was a loose connection. I think it was the connection to the antenna but cant say for sure. Issue has not returned since. Hope this doesn't jinx me

Mine went in Monday....they finally got around to looking at it yesterday. They previously replaced the telematics box, so this time they are replacing the antenna. Oddly the problem before was good for a while then gradually the warning would come up more and more often so whatever is causing this, it gets worse over time.

They reflashed everything and it seems to be working. It’s been a month now and all still good.

I heard from the dealer last night that the antenna replacement did not work, so now they are replacing the module for the second time. My 36 month warranty ends in April and I am unsure if this will fix it since it was already replaced once. Has there ever been a consensus on what is causing these to fail or what it does for my truck? I assume they cannot be removed to do away with the problem.

I reread this thread and answered my questions about removing it. It is possible and does not harm to the system. Curious why some have an ongoing problem despite multiple replacements and others have none.

Got mine back yesterday. They replaced everything, including the module, wire harness, and antenna. Also wiped out the JScan programming that I did. I'm not sure why they did that, but I hope that was not part of the problem.

Ram Cares has not been much help in my experience. A few years ago, they were very active on here, offering to help, but all they did was connect me up with my dealer.
Sort of like the "Good Hands People". Until you file a claim.

This might sound crazy, but it seems the box pops up after the truck has been sitting in the sun. It's started to warm up in south Georgia, so the afternoons are 90+ now. When I start up at work, I get the box. Truck has been sitting in the sun about 8 hours. I get the box once more about a mile down the road. After that, nothing. I start up the next morning, nothing. Truck is in a carport at home. Nothing until starting up to go home from work.

This scenario has happened three times.

I'm going to try a sun shade and test this.

I live in Oregon and it rains half the damn year. I've had it happen at all times if the year. I actually though it might be the rain. 🤷‍♂️

Interesting. It hasn't happened to me enough to go through a bunch of dealer BS. Take more than a handful of times for that. It works. For now.

I don't know how much of this post you have read but here is what I posted last year.....FYI it hasn't happened since.

So I ended up going to another local dealer the first week in March because they said they had been having success with this error. They checked the antenna, antenna wire and everything connected to the box and all that was good so what they ended up doing is just squeezing the connector a little to get it grip tighter when it plugs in. they told me they have noticed that from the factory the connection can be a little loose even though it's plugged in all the way. They said they've done this on numerous vehicles with this error message because it all comes down to measured resistance in the system if it sees any fluctuation in resistance it sets the error because it thinks there's a problem with the antenna. it also explains why it happens randomly when driving if you hit bumps etc. I have not gotten the error since....fingers crossed
