Are the 2019 Ram production doom and gloom articles accurate?

Believe what you want to believe. eTorque ordering has been open for what a month now? And who's truck has moved beyond D or D1 in less than 30 days of ordering other than @BZ23 truck which was a special case.

I responded to articles written based on speculation with an article based on facts with links to back them up, if you want to get your back up about it that's up to you but I'm not going to keep repeating myself.

Does it suck that they aren't on lots or in customer hands yet? Yes, is the sky falling, no.

Etorque ordering actually opened up on 4/11. I almost ordered then but finally decided that I really wanted Ramboxes on my next RAM truck.
Rambox ordering opened on 5/2

Thanks for the correction, I had the dates swapped around in my head.

i don't understand why any one of us would think that they would get their ordered truck in before 10 to 12 weeks with the new 19. any thing before that count your blessings. checking the status every day won't make them get to you any sooner. believe me i'm hoping every day to see a e-mail or get a call from my dealer. if i don't hear anything by next wednesday which will be 10 weeks since i got my vin i will finally check on my status. i have gotten a lot of good info with every ones status updates.

When I ordered, my dealer told me 6-8 weeks. I NEVER expected that to happen. In my mind I had it at least 8-10 and more likely 10-12 weeks, which would put me getting my truck at the end of July or beginning of August. Anytime in that timeframe is OK with me as long as I get a solid well built truck. Sure I would like it to go quickly, that is human nature. But I try and be patient even though it is not always easy when you see other people getting their trucks delivered or someone who placed an order after I did get moved to a status in front of me. Only bummer for me is losing the 500 Cash bonus that will expire on 07/02. I am hoping to get another one in the mail or maybe e a new monthly incentive will hit when my truck arrives to make it up.

When I ordered a custom Camaro Z28 back in 1986, I was told 13 weeks and never gave it a second thought. Of course there was no internet (or cell phones) to drive me crazy trying to check the status. You just waited for the dealer to call and tell you the car came in. LOL

Thanks @Slim for pointing out something that makes sense. These articles do this all the time. Slow news right now, and people love a conspiracy.

Late availability on a 2019 in 2018, what exactly that means no one knows...but I wouldn't get to antsy til 2019 and here we are
Jared and others have done a great job of providing information and specifying them as facts or rumors until proven otherwise. Can't say the same thing about other automotive publications, unfortunately. They are trying to get traffic to their sites when news is slow.

What response does FCA owe to anyone? Some of you guys are coming across as crybabies to be honest. Not a customer i'd want. You made the choice to order as soon as you possibly could. Just relax, but that's easy for me to say, i guess....

Would it be nice if FCA came out and gave an explanation or better dates? Sure.
Will that magically make them produce trucks faster? No.
Do they need to respond to a complete speculation article that provides no sources and no verified facts? Heck no. If they did it would actually make them look worse in my opinion.

If it is, in fact, EPA holding up everything (possibly a "don't cross us" warning back at FCA for the ecodiesel thing?), then your frustrations should be with the EPA. FCA can't come out and say "EPA is holding everything up" as it'll just sound like they're making excuses.

This is exactly why they don't provide dates, by the way. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

SO YOUNG and with SO MUCH Wisdom . . . I'll put a "check" in that box . . . I don't mean mailbox, and I do mean "check-Mark" ! :D
Ah, it IS nice having reliable transportation and not HAVING to "have what I want when I want it" thoughts, in my head 24 / 7 !
I'm just thinking now, gee what a wonderful Christmas Present to myself this New DT will be -- with all the kinks worked out ( fingers & toes crossed ) ! :)

Just an update, I emailed the person I talk to in the compliance division and while he is on vacation right now he said that yes the articles are "grossly overstated." He has forwarded my email to one of his colleagues and I will hopefully hear back soon and can update this for you guys.

Thanks @Jared B I hope they soon get all the trims, packages and engines moved on to the people who ordered, but for an early run on an all new truck they are doing fine, especially with supplier issues and regulators.

But then it is easy for me to say that as I am not waiting on an order that seems to be taking to long.

I feel for everyone waiting, especially with all the uncertainty. I hope they get these things out soon.

I didn't intend the seems to be in all caps. I really hope you guys get your trucks soon. I have to wait (a) for HD and (b) to make sure the new powerwagon doesn't make for awesome deals on nearly new used ones (I hate buying new vehicles)

I have a lot of FCA contacts some which are big wigs. I can call some to get an answer for you and get an update on E-torque etc.

If you could that would be great. I work nights and just got home from work but if I haven't received an email by the time I wake up I'll probably give them a call if it's not past office hours.
