I say the same thing about the warning to check your back seat built into all new cars now. Way more annoying than a horn chirp. The government is trying to idiot proof cars, instead of idiot proofing the roads, by not giving stupid people a license.
I agree. I have no children, I have no grandchildren. I should not have to see this.

But we can disable the backup sensor that would allow someone to kill another person by backing over them or causing an accident? I’m sure that will be the next feature that will be forced on us that can no longer be disabled. Soon Rams will just drive wherever Ram wants us to go, not where we want to go…………….for our protection. The feature should be a choice, especially after spending $60K + for a vehicle.

RamCares,

Out of 181 votes, only 5% of the of the Ram owners on this forum like this feature. This forum represents a very small percentage of Ram owners in the world. So, I’m sure the opinions on this forum most likely reflects the thoughts and opinions of Ram owners all over the world. It would be impossible to convince anyone that the opinions of rest of the Ram owners in the world would deviate much from those in this forum. We are clearly stating that we, 95% your customers, do not want this feature forced on us. And the only reply we get is a list of reasons it is mandatory due to Ram thinking their customers are too stupid to think for themselves. Why even ask in the first place if you aren’t going to listen, care, or do anything about what we think/want?

Silly thing is they open themselves up to MORE liability since they took it upon themselves to determine how to save us from ourselves...as soon as that malfunctions guess who is now at fault for all of the things that we were no longer protected from? Corporations creating problems where none exist, just being human...must be a back room deal with the lawyers.

It's their style of warning, but it's probably government mandate to have one, just like the aforementioned back up cam, and rear seat warning.

Points 1, 2, 3, & 5 could be prevented by engaging the shift interlock when the key fob exits the vehicle and the vehicle is running. The same shift interlock that prevents the vehicle from being shifted into gear when it's in remote start mode.

So you want them to add to the cost of the truck adding interlocks? How about don't get out and leave it running. If I get out to attach or detach my trailer, I just don't close the door. No beep.

Why can't the truck refuse to let you shift from park to drive with no fob

Programmed my Ford truck to do this with $12 software (equivalent to AlphaOBD). Brilliant feature.

It's not adding anything since the interlock is already there. It's a programming change.

Forscan? I had it as well. Awesome program that you can do so much on Fords with. I disabled the two horn chip on mine with it, among other things.

Exactly, FORscan was a amazing, thanks to a pioneering community and that Ford has so many global models with hidden features. Have over 15 mods done with it and it just dialed it in so nicely.

Your truck doesnt beep 3 times when you walk away with the fob in your pocket if you leave the door open?

My Tazer was worth every penny just to eliminate this.

That is correct, did not need a Tazer either. My truck was built before the plandemic, it lacks some of the "improvements" that are in newer builds

Mine does. It could care less if the door it open or closed. 1 step outside with my other still on the side step and it's honking like it just drove by a college fundraiser car wash.
Edit: My TazerDT was acting up and making it honk with or without the door open but now it works as it did before (I try not to open the door knowing it's going to honk at me as I shut it when I step outside.)

Yeah same here 2 steps from my truck to open a gate with the fob in my pocket and its honking at me. Doesnt matter if the door is open or closed. Edit: it only honks with doors closed.

Mine only did with the door closed. Wonder if it’s different with proximity entry?🤔

Hang on. So are you guys saying that (on 2022+ rams only) when you exit the vehicle with the fob while it’s running, it will honk three times BEFORE the door is closed? If so, that’s not the correct behavior. Every 2022+ ram I’ve been in, the horn will not honk three times until the door is closed and latched all the way.

I assume Tazer has more custom features over the AlfaOBD? I have AlfaOBD and would love to disable this feature.
