Beating a dead horse here since I know you all agree that my exhaust doesn't sound right. But I made a side by side video. Both taken from my phone. Both trucks revved within 30 seconds after cold starting. Dealer still seems to think I have the correct part numbers.

Yeah that isn't close. Try getting them to check the PN on the muffler. That should tell them instantly it's the wrong PN.

I'm going to crawl under the truck on my lunch break and find it and see what it says.

yeah i still say you most definitely do NOT. it sounds a tiny bit different from stock and my guess is due to the ONE G/T reso you have... but the full GT sounds way different IMO.

With the help of @Dookie and @dc51786 I finally have the smoking gun for the dealer. See pics below:

The note pad has the non GT and the NEA (GT) muffler part numbers sent to me by my dealer. The second picture is engraved on my muffler assembly.

I'm not declaring victory until it sounds like it should and it's in my driveway. But this should help move things along.

Boom.

I have to say though, your dealer kind of sucks for dragging this out for as long as they have. Like you have nothing better to do but ***** this much and dig this deep about one $900 part on a $60K+ truck that maybe doesn't sound exactly quite like it should, no it sounds NOTHING like it should, just take care of your paying customer who will probably not repeat now you jerks lol.

Those are my exact thoughts. My wife's parents/sister have bought like 8 combined cars from them, my wife has bought 3, and this is my first from them and all those transactions were great. Good prices, great to work with, and much better than the other closest dealer for Ram. So the relationship and history should have been enough for them to take this seriously. I will have to very seriously consider ever going back after this. It may be a lesser of two evils thing here and I might have to travel a ways instead of going local next time. How they handle everything going forward now that they have this proof will essentially determine whether I go back or not.

Also why am I the one doing all this figuring stuff out? Why would they not be going under the truck looking for part numbers and determining the issue? Just puts a bad taste in my mouth. On the bright side the rest of the truck is sweet 😂 .

A good dealer would have been on that from the minute that truck hit their lot. I'm guessing they have some oil changer doing their preps. I have prepped 2 GTs and I know they had the correct exhaust, you can tell instantly.
Hopefully they get you the correct exhaust. In a situation like this they may even install the cat back system and put some 5" tips on. It's up to the dealers rep to go that route, I have seen stuff like this happen. Be calm and cool but don't cave in.

It would be great if they went that far as to put the catback with 5" tips on it but seeing as how little they have done so far I'm guessing that going the extra mile is not their thing. Never say never though. I definitely won't back down now that I have legitimate proof compared to me just hearing a difference.

Thank you for the help with locating the part number. Mine was actually on the engine side of the muffler, I couldn't find it for a few minutes because I was looking near the Y haha.

Glad you found it. If they don't budge/help just ask for their reps phone number.

The one I installed didn't have anything stamped near the Y either, I didn't look any farther than that area because I didn't need to. Glad you have things moving in the right direction and in the end will have EXACTLY what you ordered and paid for. A lot of people would just accept it as is and move on, and I'm sure they thought that initially. Guys that have a passion for what they drive and how it looks, sounds and drives are a pain in the a$$ to most dealers, a good dealer will work with you to make the buying experience a pleasant one, and go above and beyond to make the consumer a happy one.

I get this from the dealer I bought my truck from. Took it in to get my Airflow installed, had put Revel links on to level (no spacers, I have them now and am gonna do it "properly") and the ride went to s**t. So I figured why not, asked them to throw the stock links back on while they were at it, figured they'd charge me a half hour of labor or something. They did it for free. Gave me the employee discount on the Airflow since I bought the truck from them. Took 10% of the labor. They are good peoples. Almost want to trade up in like a year just to have a great buying experience all over again.

Seems like the right and left reso's should have the same number followed by L or R as thats what it looks like from the stock reso's... same number just a side designation after it.

here are the links to the 2 cold starts i did.
This is the '19 Rebel stock exhaust i rented:

and this is from the G/T on the lot i test drove about a month back:

Hopefully it comes thru on the vids but they were VERY different when we did it side by side at the dealer... i just didn't film the stock one then since i wasn't thinking this could be an issue.
The truck from the test drive (bottom video) is exactly what my Rebel GT sounds like.
