Rebel GT Exhaust question

Tips should work and bolt on without any issues.
We’ll see. I ordered the muffler and rh resonator. No eta on the muffler, and no pricing yet on the resonator but they are showing some. Love the sound of them G/Ts

Lol, my back is still sore from my install. One of these days I'll have a shop with a 2 post lift, I am in the process of looking for said house/shop right now. I have outgrown where I live and need the space and storage of all my crap (my wife's words, not mine). On a lift and 2 people, I could do 10 of these in a day.

Forgot to mention something about the install...The muffler assembly comes with all the brackets and hangers installed on it as seen in the photos already posted. You need to remove the hanger with the bracket on the LH resonator of the G/T muffler assembly prior to install and reuse the hanger that is already on the truck. That is the easiest way to do it. If you had to remove that bracket off the truck, you first have to remove another bracket the wiring harness is attached in that area and would be a PITA. The other hanger you have to use the pliers on is near the 2 bolt oval flange. The rest is bolted in.
Here are a few pics of what I'm talking about.

I was hoping I was the only one so no one else has to deal with this crap. Hopefully your dealer is more cooperative than mine. Keep us updated and let me know how they handle it!
just came back from the dealership I purchased the truck from. Sales Manager agrees that it doesn't sound like other GT's. Neither he or the Service Manager have ever seen a GT without the full GT exhaust. Looking up my VIN, it's supposed to have the 364AA Exhaust, but they are concerned that the response from RAM Canada will be that the truck has the part on it that it's supposed to have. They took a copy of the picture I took showing 201AL stamped on it, but who knows. Sales Manager seems to legitimately want to pursue this and get it fixed for me. While on the lot, we put a standard truck next to mine and another GT model, mine did sound different than the stock truck but nowhere near the volume and "barkyness" of the GT. I think this is due to having one of the proper resonators but having the wrong muffler and second resonator. Will keep people updated, but I don't know how long it will take to get a response from RAM Canada.

Been watching a few YouTube videos and just the opposite, some dealers are getting non G/T models in with the G/T exhaust installed. The02CumminsRAM channel on YouTube has a particularly good video called "First new OEM G/T exhaust? 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie 5.7 Hemi with a loud stock exhaust!"

I'm just glad they are trying to help you out. I went to another Ram dealer other than the one I purchased it from to get more help and I have an appointment with them to get it looked at because they agree it's not right also. Unfortunately the soonest they can get me in is Jan. 26th and he said even if they are able to order the part for me it's about a month out for delivery. So it's looking like when it's all said and done it will likely be spring by the time anything is resolved.

I also got @RamCares involved to create a case to escalate so I'm hoping they can do something about getting me the new parts sooner and get it installed quickly.

Ok, I’ve read thru this whole thing and I’m more confused than when I started. So some are suggesting if the “GT” exhaust system needs replacing to do so ordering the muffler assembly that comes with the right resonator and adding another right resonator because it sounds better? I have a Laramie GT and want to get under it just to check and verify that the correct parts were installed at the factory. What numbers should I see on the muffler, right resonator, and left resonator? Are the tips GT specific ? I apologize but I’m getting older and just hearing that this is happening to people who have paid good money for these trucks pisses me off, is it too much to ask that we just get what we ordered and paid for? No one should be getting the run around from their dealer about something like this, there was a mistake made and they should fix it at no cost With no questions asked. I think they use to call that customer service.

No, not exactly, if you order the system from RAM for your truck that has a stock exhaust. you're only gonna get the pipe, muffler, and drivers side reso. To have the full system you have to also order the passenger side reso. @Dookie was just trying it that way first to see if he didn't need to get the other reso, but (and correct me if i am wrong) he has determined he wants the full system. So to get the "G/T passive cold end exhaust" you need to order 2 things, not just 1... which actually consists of all 3... right? right. clear as mud. o_O:ROFLMAO::LOL:. part numbers are throughout this thread.

And i agree with you on the customer service thing... Its already a crap-shoot for us that ordered the G/T to get the right exhaust... it shouldn't also be a crap-shoot whether your dealer is going to make it right or not. :cautious:

Aside from the info i've provided in the past 2 pages of posts, @t_henrickson has provided everything I needed. About 6-8 inches toward the engine from the muffler (on the pipe) facing toward the ground you will see a stamped number. @t_henrickson and myself both have 201AL stamped there, which we believe/have proven correlates to the stock exhaust system. The number there should be 364AA. I have not looked close enough at the resonators (just before the exhaust tips) to find the actual part numbers, but there seems to be some correlation between the larger stamped "C-" numbers and the part number. Someone else here as supplied the actual resonator part number, but i have yet to find it stamped on the metal (too cold here to spend a ton of time looking).

As someone else also pointed out, if you think you have the wrong exhaust... you likely are correct. Hearing my truck next to a proper GT it is obvious.

The G/T exhaust is the ****, so crisp and clean sounding. So so perfect for me.
I and others have already posted the two part numbers needed. Right now i have the stock RH passenger resonator and am awaiting the incoming G/T RH resonator and will install once in. Large difference in tone and volume between the two.

Here’s what my truck sounds like. Sounds good to me but I really don’t have anything to compare it to.
Yours sounds correct. You'd be able to tell for sure with some revving but just based on start up this is completely different than mine and sounds much better.

Does anyone know if the part number for the right side resonator is engraved somewhere on it? I know what the part number is supposed to be, I just can't find a part number anywhere on it when I'm underneath. The only number I can see is the raised block letters.

I've looked twice now with no luck finding the part number on the resonator. my only thought would be if it's somewhere almost inaccessible without removal, like facing up towards the box or something like that.

I know you already know the part number, but for anyone else in your and my situation, here is where you can confirm the part number on line:
h ttps://store.mopar.com/v-2022-ram-1500--laramie--5-7l-v8-electric-gas/exhaust--exhaust-system

if you scroll about half way down you'll see the dual exhaust system, #9 and #13 are the specific parts, and you can see the GT components are listed as "Discontinued". What is interesting, from that parts diagram, it looks like the muffler and drivers side resonator is all covered by a single part number, 68517364AA, and the passenger side resonator is part number 68517365AA. This fits with my truck as I can find the wrong muffler part number (68268201AL) and if you can trust the large block letters stamped on the resonators my drivers side is incorrect but my passenger side is correct.

Still waiting for dealership to get back to me, gonna give them till Friday before I start asking for updates...

@RamCares do you help out with Canada as well? Given that the GT is brand new and at least 2 forum members (1 USA and 1 CAN and different trim levels) have the wrong exhaust, I have to wonder if this is a bigger issue than an isolated case.

Yes it sounds like they pushed yours through with a standard exhaust just to get it built.

It happened to mine too. I wonder if this is a bigger issue that we actually know. Sounds like an exhaust shortage at the plant but they needed to hit year end quota's so they just put on whatever exhaust they had in stock to get them invoiced as fast as possible.

@RamCares
I can't even remember anymore if this was the thread I mentioned this (and I'm too lazy to look lol) but my dealer told me that trucks were coming in "incomplete". People with G/T's were owed the Airflow CAI, people with Night Editions were owed tonneau covers, one dude with a Limited was getting power running boards installed while I was there cause his truck shipped without them.

So yeah, there's definitely something going on.

It's all about the bottom line and year end numbers which sucks for the customers. We all pay 50, 60, 70+ thousand dollars and then wait 6 months to get them just for them to show up incorrect or missing parts because they were in a hurry to maximize profits for the year so it looks better on the books. It's not something that will ever change either. Just how "business" works these days. They also prioritized high dollar orders over the low dollar orders regardless of order date. They pushed the most expensive trucks before others. There were guys in the 2022 orders forum on here that were getting build dates 3 weeks after order date because they were loaded up Limited's and other high end models. Meanwhile, there are guys STILL waiting from May and June orders because they locked in the low prices from way back then before they raised all the base prices and package prices. Just isn't right.

Sorry for the rant!

@RamCares
I really don't know if it's due to a shortage or just **** poor parts management because dealers have reported receiving non G/T trucks in that have the G/T exhaust installed.
