I like how your photo sequence tells the story.
My chainsaw has a shorter bar for around the house cuts, but I've taken down a few trees before. Nothing of the diameter you cut there. My question is, how do you keep the chain sharp? With as many cuts as it took to fill the bed of your truck, my chain would've been DULL!

Thanks. The story continues in my build thread as it leads up to some of the limitations I found about my current suspension system. So it's the Neverending Story...lol.

I actually used the same chain from my previous wood cutting trip (but only cut about half as much wood) and was getting pretty dull by the end of this trip as I was also cutting wood for my friend's truck load as well. I was pretty happy with it and the 20-inch bar sure helps (my other chainsaw is 14" so no way I could have cut through some the larger diameter logs). Now I have to split it all.

Finally got the Comma two, installed and setup correctly. I drive a ton of miles. Hands free cruise control is awesome and will see a lot of use. Picked up my new truck on July 16, already has 5k miles on it.

that is awesome but I would fall asleep SO quickly! I almost fell asleep watching that video. the road stripes and music and everything just puts me in a trance. I did drive 21 hours home from Utah straight, but I didn't use cruise. that is a sleeping pill for me.

Aint that the truth... Driving long distance is a constant battle with falling asleep. That's one of the reasons I got this truck, it has all the advanced safety features and collision avoidance, that I hope I never need. My old truck a 2012 2500 Cummins powerd MegaCab has 327k accident free miles and no safety features . Currently, I am clocking over 1 million total accident free combined miles, with my last several trucks but I'm getting older and the battle with sleep has become more difficult. The Comma device has a driver monitoring system. If it catches you not paying attention or falling asleep it triggers an alarm and warnings to stay alert. I'm also hoping that I never need that alarm but I like having it. I gotta keep rolling so I can make the cheddah.

Check your local library or community center and see if they have a "Maker Space" that has a Silhouette or Cricut machine. Cheaper to do it that way instead of spending $$ on the machine (unless you're making a ton of decals).

This weekend I got rid of the box in back of the truck and built a drawer system similar to the DECKED system. Mine is of course full extension and instead of costing $1200, it was only $100. The Douglas fir 1x8s were a gift from a friend so all I had to buy was the three sheets of Melamine.

I did not use drawer slides as installing them after the casework was built would have proven much harder. Best to have them free range so they can be easily removed. That and the slides cost about $450 for two pair. I devised an insert that goes from the tailgate to the drawers so they do not slide out any during acceleration [even though they would not get far]. Only thing I need to do now is figure out another insert for when the tailgate is down to keep them in place.

What do you mean you don't trust it? It's not like you can crawl in the back seat and take a nap while it drives to your destination. If you don't like what it's doing, take over. Used correctly, automation can be a great tool to lessen your workload and allow you to focus on other/more tasks.

Well, as long as they can't defeat the built-in protections I don't think we'll have to worry about that. I'm more worried about people using it to help them text more often. Texting while driving is more dangerous than people driving under the influence...IMO.

This will sound silly, but I’m trying to make my adventures in locating wiring easier, do you remember what color wires / and or locations you used, especially for the door assist when you unlock the doors, I was thinking the wiring for the light in the bottom of the mirror that comes on when you open or unlock your doors. Any info or remembrance of there you tapping into would be great! I have the exact same running board led’s (and the same tailgate one) but that was an easy install with the curt 7 to 4 splicer.

Did you hook your parking lights on those strip, up to your parking lights ? I’m thinking about making that connection to switched ignition power so the “parking” lights are yellow drl’s on the sides. Still up in the air on that one… Thanks!

Got the truck oil sprayed this morning at Krown.

I am debating doing the same (winter is coming..) Any downsides? I have heard oil dripping for a few days on driveway and possibly smell. First hand knowledge is better than internet rumors.

Your vehicle will most definitely drip. I have plywood on the floor of my garage. It drips on that. Alternatively you can get some cardboard and place it underneath while it drips.

Never had an issue with any smell. You do have to be careful when initially leaving. Some oil residue on brakes. At Krown they coat your rubbers with a silicone spray. I also buy additional cans to go over them again and keep them soft.

I have never had any issues with Krown.

Sent my preliminary 30” light bar bracket measurements/diagrams over to [mention]Shifts And Grins Fab [/mention] so he can finalize in CAD and fabricate some sets. Kind of cool to see something go from cardboard cutouts to some nice looking brackets for our trucks.
