I am debating doing the same (winter is coming..) Any downsides? I have heard oil dripping for a few days on driveway and possibly smell. First hand knowledge is better than internet rumors.
Driving down gravel road after will help prevent drippings and applying in cooler fall weather also helps curing process.

I do it in the spring. As corrosion happens in the warmth. So I get a good cleaning done in the spring time. Then take it in to get sprayed.

I had a 1994 Suzuki Swift that was oil sprayed. Not a spot of rust on it when I traded it in in 2015.

My Dad had a 90 Subaru Legacy and sold it in 2006. No rust on that either. The wheel wells actually chipped away after 400k and the gas tank got exposed. That's why that car got traded in.

Which Cam and detector did you choose?
Escort Max 360C - https://www.escortradar.com/products/escort_max_360c
Nextbase 622GW Dash Cam Front and Rear Camera - https://www.amazon.com/Nextbase-622GW-Cam-Bluetooth-Emergency/dp/B08F7RH7NY

I've had ThinkWare units through the years but ThinkWare despite being "premium priced" always craps the bed after a couple of years and I don't even live in a hot environment. Escort I've used for years and while the RED 360 has better rear detection, it's $100 more and at $1200 for front & rear dash cam + radar detector, another bill just wasn't justifiable.

Hmm, I was contemplating doing shortly (bought in July) before roads were salted (Syracuse, about November). Would you recommend waiting for spring or before the first salt event?

Oh get the oil on now before winter even arrives. I just got my truck last month as well. Then I will get it done again in the spring.

I like it. Seems like the Chevys and GMCs have them around here. I bought and installed the black front tow hooks. I was thinking of painting them too, but they have a coating on them. Were yours coated? What did you use? Regular red spray paint? Plasti-Dip?
Also, got a link for the rear tow hook?
I ordered a new set of black tow hooks and painted them with "toolbox red" spray paint from Lowe's. Check my previous posts for a pic of the can.

Big week for me:)
I installed the OEM electric steps AND I also got the bed step!
Love this truck. The only thing is, I turned on the electric steps in Alpha but it's still not showing up, guess I'll wait and see, unless you think I missed something?

Aint that the truth... Driving long distance is a constant battle with falling asleep. That's one of the reasons I got this truck, it has all the advanced safety features and collision avoidance, that I hope I never need. My old truck a 2012 2500 Cummins powerd MegaCab has 327k accident free miles and no safety features . Currently, I am clocking over 1 million total accident free combined miles, with my last several trucks but I'm getting older and the battle with sleep has become more difficult. The Comma device has a driver monitoring system. If it catches you not paying attention or falling asleep it triggers an alarm and warnings to stay alert. I'm also hoping that I never need that alarm but I like having it. I gotta keep rolling so I can make the cheddah. 🧀
Link to this comma setup?

I didn't do much, but on Saturday the tint shop did a great job w/ ceramic tint all the way around and on the pano. Got it all cleaned up today after waiting his recommended 3 days. Looks fantastic and I can tell a big difference on temperature (at least I keep telling myself that).

Hardest decision was the "you want to keep it legal?" question. Went state legal, which does seem to be a rarity around these parts.
