Looking in the market for a Light Control Panel that is controlled wirelessly. Looking to run a LED light bar in the grill and maybe some rear lights. Don't need more than 4 channels. What do you guys have?
I was also looking at this but the price is a little steep for me. Heard nothing but good things about the Trigger system though. Now I'm considering to hold off for a few months and get this or get a cheaper alternative right now.I don't have a need for it yet, but I've been looking at the Trigger 6-shooter system. They have a four-button version as well. I hate running wiring through the cab.

Trigger Wireless Accessory Controllers are the 4 PLUS and 6 SHOOTER controller systems, and the new ONE Bluetooth solid state relay. Custom accessories too!triggercontroller.com
Do you think the Trigger system is still worth it, or simply avoid it and get some wired switches?I have the trigger 4 switch... it depends on use. I initially had some issues with the controller where it randomly turned on and off, but haven't had any for the last 4 months or so. The system overall seems built decent, though the switches feel very cheap. The switches won't light up unless turned on so don't expect to see them backlit, just keep that in mind. When turned on the backlighting is very poor so you won't be able to read the labels without other lighting at night. They do work from probably 20' away for me as far as ability to turn on outside of the truck. The app is rated poor but I haven't tried it. I wanted wireless as well, and if that's a must this is an ok option, but in all honestly for me, I will likely go to wired in the future as I hate not having backlit switches. I am only using 2 switches right now out of 4, 1 for lightbar and 1 for 2 ditch pods.
Me personally I don't see the real benefit going wireless. I purchased a wired switch controller on Amazon for under $90 that includes the relay box for under the hood and a wired control panel for the cab. You run one wire into cab, this will take less than 10 minutes to do. The 5th gen has a very easy grommet on firewall that you use to pass wire into cab. As well the control panel is nice and compact(granted it does have wire attached) . For me this was a better solution.Do you think the Trigger system is still worth it, or simply avoid it and get some wired switches?
THIS ^^^ would be my choice and I 100% agree as a vehicle electronics installer for the past 35+ years.Me personally I don't see the real benefit going wireless. Took it to a buddy's house and got it done within 2 hours! Wasn't as bad as I thought! Appreciate the willingness to help though! If you need any help with it, PM me and we can talk via cell. Happy to help
I got the switches but realized that where I initially wanted it, requiredme to cut the interior panels, which I'm really not a fan of. Instead, got a single button switch prewired to a harness and installed that. I will most likely install the control panel in the future. Having the practicality of a lit button already is a huge plus haha! Thanks for commenting!I would also agree that the decision you made as well as DTS828 is the better one. I think the wireless is a good option based on this experience only if you really don't want to deal with pushing through the firewall grommet. The wireless is a quicker install but not much, and for the trade off of no batteries needed, backlit buttons, and no risk of wireless interference the single wire like posted above makes more sense for way less cost.
