Hey guys, I am ready to deposit on a 3500 MC Laramie build tonight. Are you looking possibly for some buying power. I'll go anywhere in the country, coming from the panhandle of FL. Sorry for eavesdropping, but I'm dying to pull the trigger, but 10k off (+ whatever rebates exist on arrival) of a 80K truck doesn't sound good enough to me.
More the merrier. Not sure if anyone has tried this strategy before. But it looks like limited is the choice of many folks here. Let's band together and find a small group of dealers who wants to sell multiple trucks to folks on this forum. Easy business for them and good deals for us.

2021 Laramie, fairly loaded.
January 2021 purchase.

MSRP: $60800
Negotiated: $52100
Rebates: $3500
Fees: $650
Discount off MSRP, before tax: 19%
Hard to have any buyers remorse over that deal. I would have hemmed and hawed over the damn fee, but then signed... Mixing the $650 fee back in, an $8050 Dealership contribution is fair.

It’s just a damn shame that most dealerships play that game, hiding front end profit as a “fee”.
Its ripping off the poor SOBs trying to make a living selling cars on commission just as much as being dishonest to consumers about the true dealership contribution to the deal.

Shane,
As I told Jeff, this will depend on the response from the dealer. I will post up as soon as I hear from them...IF I hear from them! I think a group purchase is a good idea, but the dealer is always going to want to make profit. We have to decide for ourselves what a good deal is.

I have also been talking to Culpeper in Virginia. Maybe I'll drop my salesperson an email this morning.

Jeff,
Are you looking to order, or do you believe you could find what you want on anyone's lot?

Also, I discussed the group purchase with Culpeper, not Ourisman which was the dealer who gave 22% off for the Big Horn. She said a group of 3 buyers would make no difference to Culpeper. They would offer the same as what they would to only one buyer. The offer she gave me in December for an order was 17.2% off MSRP. Their document fee is $799.

Looking at placing a Factory Order for a Rebel. I am in the Milwaukee/Chicago area. Anyone have any recommendations for a dealer in the area that gave you a great price on a build?

You can also try one of the Van Horn Ram dealers, (Manitowoc, Plymouth) and they have good no haggle pricing (usually around 12-14% off Laramie, 10-12% off Big Horn). But service is not that good (they made no effort to locate what I wanted and they did not have a good match on their lot), I ended up buying elsewhere.

Bergstrom in Oshkosh or Kaukauna also has pretty good pricing and excellent service. My experience is they are on the low side of acceptable on trade on value, though.

My Brother-in-Law just bought his new Ram from VanHorn in Plymouth and I have talked to them but they don't have what I want. Didn't really think about ordering a new one. As for Bergstrom, I know in Appleton/Kaukauna they just have the UpFront Pricing which is BS. Anytime I have tried to negotiate with them on any vehicle they don't play ball so much.

This guy will get you the 5% under invoice right off the bat. And you can still add another 1% with tread lightly or Affliate employer for total of 6% off invoice with no negotiation. Plus whatever rebates are available. Doc fee is $300

I contacted Jason at Hawk CDJ in Chicago as he is 5% under invoice and 1% more if you have Affiliate/Tread Lightly. I could message him and see. Like the other guys if more guys order maybe get a little better deal. Your call.

The RAM dealers are in Kaukauna and Oshkosh. They were at 11.6% off dealer discount, no haggle, on a Laramie locate 150 miles away. But they were at $33,500 on my trade, while most other places were between $34,500 and $34,900. You're right, when they say no negotiation pricing they mean it. You won't get the best deal from them, but you won't get screwed either and will get excellent service. I ended up getting 12% dealer discount off MSRP and $35,500 on trade, but had to go almost to Iowa. Van Horn was the same deal as I got but didn't have the truck on the lot and were not willing to put any effort into a locate.

I am not very picky on different features. As long as it is a limited edition with the technology package, which I think most of them do, I am game. I really do not need a truck. It is something I want to buy because I have never had one. So I am not in a rush. Like you, I want to get the highest possible discount.

It is rather surprising that the dealership would not go for a group deal. Less one-on one haggling and they get to sell three trucks instead of one.

Have you seen what Indiana based dealerships are offering? The one in Louisville I went to was a crook and worthless. There are many more that I could reach out to.

Im waiting to take delivery of a custom ordered 2021 Rebel with MSRP of 68k. What do you think of the 3 options my dealer offered?
1. 62k at 0% APR
2. 63k with my own financing. At maybe 2.5-4%.
3 58k with dealer financing of 5.99 that I will be looking to refinance in a few months

On orders 7% off invoice plus incentives/rebates is about the best deal atm in Florida.

Terrible.

I paid less OTD (taxes tags the whole shavang) with 0% for 60 months on a 72k msrp limited than option 1 for you.

Could find similar deals for Limited and Laramie that are sitting on dealer lots. I know what I want in the truck and don’t want to not have any of the features I added to the build. Are the dealer discounts as generous if it’s a custom ordered truck?

I custom ordered my Limited.

7% off invoice. Plus rebates and incentives on delivery.

I ended up with 3K incentives and 0% for 60 months.

I have another individual on the HD site with the trigger half pulled, but I understand 3 may not be enough to move the needle so to speak. I'll email around as well and see what I can find out from the few that have already quoted my build at a reasonable number.
