Price negotiated from MSRP

ddocrt,
Was this a 2021 Big Horn? I emailed with Ourisman regarding a 2021 Limited. They told me they have a $1995 "Dealer Protection Fee". Did they mention this fee? You didn't pay that fee? The Limited I discussed with them was, and still is, on the lot. No where near 22% off. Keiri is not listed on their website as staff. Can you share her email?

hey, yes, it was a bighorn 2021. I did not pay or see a dealer protection fee. The fees that add was the destination fee and also a processing fee.

I checked the website and your right, Keiri is not on there. I communicated with her through this email: Ourisman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Clarksville <[email protected]>. I was with her for hours on saturday, she really does exist :)

hope this helps!

ddocrt,
Thank you for the follow up. Can you tell me what rebates were included in your deal? Did you have any of the conditional ones such as first responder?

I am trying to understand why Ourisman went as low as they did. I mean, I can flat out ask them to give me the same percent off that they gave you, but I would prefer to understand any special circumstances. Although I see you just bought a different truck new only a year ago, I would assume your deal didn't include any residual trade in value.

Hey WReckeR,

I don't have transparency with what rebates were included unfortunately. I am not first responder or military. My discussions were focused on my 'out the door price' and was not concerned how they got there. The only requirement they put on me is that I finance through Chrysler to get the 'rebate', whatever it was.

I'll be completely honest, I have no clue how I stumbled into this deal. I did have a trade (2012 nissan pathfinder with 82k miles), but we agreed upon the OTD price before I even mentioned the trade. They gave me a good deal on the trade as well.

This is pretty much how it all went down:

1. Jan 3 - Saw the 'ourisman price' online (what is really low) and submitted my information. As soon as I did that I realized that price contains 'all the discounts' and thought no way I get that price

2. Jan 4 - Ourisman emails me asking me to come in and check out the car. I replied and said, thanks, but no thanks, I made a mistake and realized that the price is loaded with all the discounts. She asks if I would still want numbers to see what I could get and said 'sure, why not'

3. Jan 6 - Ourisman comes back with a good OTD number, but still higher than where I wanted to be.

4. Jan 7 - Ourisman asks what OTD number I wanted

5. Jan 8 - they come back to me with that number

6. Jan 9 - I'm driving home in a new truck

this was done all over email and one call on Friday evening for me to convince myself this was for real. I had some hesitation driving 2 hours worried they would try to change things on me, but it all worked out.

Ok. So here is a question. I have a deal going with the MSRP at $70,600. Before incentives they are at saying $63,761 is the lowest they can go. Obviously the Employee Pricing is at $61,722. Should I try to see if I can get them to $62,000? I would have about $3,000 in incentives.

Another question is what is "DR"

If it was me, $61,722 before incentives and rebates would be as high as I would go.

It should absolutely be that easy. I'm willing to ask them again. I had a different salesperson last time. I was blunt with them about their inappropriate dealer protection fee, but he said upfront that he could do nothing about it. Obviously since you weren't charged that, they CAN do something about it.

Anyway, thank you again for the rundown. I think I'll try them once more. It's a much longer drive for me, since I live in Indianapolis, but it's worth a day's drive if they'll do 22% one more time.

This guy will get you the 5% under invoice right off the bat. And you can still add another 1% with tread lightly or Affliate employer for total of 6% off invoice with no negotiation. Plus whatever rebates are available. Doc fee is $300

Wrecker,

I am in Louisville KY. I am also interested in getting a truck. If we get two trucks, we might be able to get an attractive deal. I don't mind driving a day either. I might have another friend interested making it three trucks. I am looking for a limited edition.

Jeff,
That is definitely something I can mention if they reply. Sometimes you don't get any reply if you don't approach it the right way. I emailed them after 5pm Tuesday, so we'll see what happens next.

Hey guys, I am ready to deposit on a 3500 MC Laramie build tonight. Are you looking possibly for some buying power. I'll go anywhere in the country, coming from the panhandle of FL. Sorry for eavesdropping, but I'm dying to pull the trigger, but 10k off (+ whatever rebates exist on arrival) of a 80K truck doesn't sound good enough to me.

You can also try one of the Van Horn Ram dealers, (Manitowoc, Plymouth) and they have good no haggle pricing (usually a dealer discount before rebates/incentives around 12-14% off Laramie, 10-12% off Big Horn). But service is not that good (they made no effort to locate what I wanted and they did not have a good match on their lot), I ended up buying elsewhere.

Bergstrom in Oshkosh or Kaukauna also has pretty good pricing and excellent service. My experience is they are on the low side of acceptable on trade in value, though.
