Deciding to replace the 3rd brake light gasket or not preemptively. Who has not had an issue with it leaking in car washes? If yours has been fine, what is your build date?

Had my 2019 for 2 years and NEVER a single drip. Build date was December 2018.

had mine for 18months and so far so good, and thats even changing out the bulbs.

Had mine for 18 months, have changed out bulbs and never leaked. Live in the Pacific Northwest where we have more than enough rain to leak test the brake light and rear window leak I have seen posted so many times, but no leaks to date.

Knock on wood. I've had mine for a little over a year, changed out the bulbs and still leak free.

No leaks here (I have not changed the bulbs) - Built in July '18.

No leaks... but we've only had it a couple months. Goes through a touchless wash once a week and I inspect the hell out of it when it does. Build date in sig.

No leaking from the CHMSL, and fortunately no cracks / leaks in the rear window trim. 2019 LongHorn, build date 6/19.

Had mine since July of 2019, build date Jan 2019, so it's almost 2 years old since production. No issues with any water leaks, no cracks, however only have 7,000 miles so far, so knocking on the whole tree.

Never had a leak on my 2016 and no leak on my 2019.

This is my 3rd Ram and I’ve never had a leak on any of them . The 2019 has a build date of Dec 2018

Same here 2 years ownership with Dec 2018 build date no issues.

No issues. 2020 Rebel

We’ve had Rams in the family (at least two of them always in the driveway) going back to 1988. The government required 3rd brake lights on light duty trucks beginning in 1994 and we have NEVER had a 3rd brake light leak.

Most recently we’ve had dual 2018, 2019 and 2020s sitting in the driveway and a third in the garage with zero 3rd brake light leaks in the rain or in the car wash.

And while we’re on the subject, we’ve never had a rear sliding window crack or leak either.

My 2020 has no leaks. I even removed the light housing to make sure there was no problem area, and checked the insulation for compression, or improper installation. No faults found here. Probably just a bad day for that particular worker that caused the issues for the ones that experienced leaks. (Like no one has had a bad day at work before)

I have a 2020 with a 11/19 build date and no issues. A few times during a good rain, I have run outside to check and have not seen any signs of leaking yet.

I have changed out the CMHLS bulbs with LEDs, but did not do anything with the weather stripping. Also, I do have a single crack just above the rear sliding window, but not a drip thru it yet (it's the first thing I check when it rains).

I was gonna post mine wasnt leaking either, then today I noticed drips hanging from window frame from the 3rd brake light . Built 6/18/20
Guess its time to swap gasket w the weatherstripping tape
