Truck is now at the dealer for the sliding rear window track frame cracked and leaking water. I've seen a lot of posts like this on the facebook page, people talking about class action lawsuits about it. I mean it leaks yeah and at 5700 miles it needs to be covered. Some people's are cracking at under 1000 miles. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Hi judsonlimited,

Please be sure to keep us updated on your dealer's findings. If our team can be of any additional assistance while your truck is in service, we'd be more than happy to help. We are just a PM away.

Did they order the whole window or just the track? I have to have my truck back by the 18th for vacation so i guess if its that long i'll get it back for a while.

Hi Bkelly,

I'm glad to hear you were able to connect with your dealer on this. If it would be of interest, we would be happy to escalate a case on your behalf to connect you with a case specialist who can work alongside your dealer to try and get this in as soon as possible. Please follow up with us via PM to get the process started.

See if it can be located at another dealer. I was on an 8 week backorder in September and a local dealer had one in stock. I was able to get it transferred to my dealership.

Update on this, the dealer actually called on December 21st, they have the window in and they are outsourcing the work to a glass company. Not sure of that's normal procedure or not but they said it will take several days to do. And they said they would re-tint my back window to 5%. I take it in on the 13th.

Well its back at the dealer again, for the back window. Not because it was cracked but because the rear defroster isn't working. After the dealer replaced the window last time, the defroster didn't work. So i took it back and re-attached the contact point and they confirmed it was working. A week or so ago it quit working again. Now they are saying they are going to have to replace the window again, so they are having to submit the paperwork to FCA and I have to wait while paying for a rental car again. They managed to fix the rear squealing brakes TSB after getting Ram Cares involved. Hopefully this will be the last time with this back window. I don't want to have to go down the lemon road but if this persists, that may be the next thing.

Hi @judsonlimited - While I regret to hear this update, I am at least glad to hear you were able to have the brakes taken care of. Please do not hesitate to follow up with us via PM if any further support is needed in addressing this.

I’m at 44k on my 2019 and just noticed a crack on the track and a small drip after going thru the car wash today, will this still be covered by the factory warranty?

Technically no, it's bumper to bumper for 36K or 3 years, whichever comes first. You have a powertrain warranty that goes for 60K or 5 years.

However, I would check with RAM cares, they maybe give you some leeway in regards to being out of warranty for a issue like that. As mentioned, silicone sealant maybe a simpler less invasive fix for you should you have to come out of pocket for this.

Thank you! I’ve reached out to my dealer with a voicemail and ram cares on here directly, hoping to get some answers and help quick.

I had a 2015 Ram before and it was good. Last year upgraded to 2019....but had so many issues! dash box light not going off....major brake squeaking when stopping and now....WATER LEAK. I was told the back window frame is cracked. I am at 64,000 miles, so out of warranty range. I ordered and payed for rear window, hopefully delivered next week. No help on dash box or brake noise. What should I do?
