You definitely want to find your scanner and get the code. It may or may not be the CAI. The fact that you’ve had it installed a month wouldn’t mean it can’t cause problems. Mods don’t cause issues all the time. Under certain conditions airflow, oxygen sensors, etc get pushed outside the tolerance they are programmed for and trip the sensor. If it is related to the MAF, just reset it. If it isn’t, the dealer needs to fix it and not point to your CAI (which is not a serious performance mod they can get upset about).
Thanks - will check the code tomorrow when my new OBD Scanner comes. If they give me that much of an issue with it I can always throw the old air box back on I kept it for situations like this.

If its related to MAF just reset the code through the scanner?

Check to make sure all the sensors on the CAI are tight and in place they can sometimes move from vibration etc.
Yeah thats first thing I checked and one was moved slightly so I pushed it back up but the CEL stayed on.

Yeah if it’s “air” related just reset the code. I have not put a scanner on the new Ram yet so I’m not sure what it lets you reset but I’m pretty sure you will be able to reset most codes. Let us know what code it is.

Will do - either tonight or tomorrow depending on if I find the old scanner or wait for the new one.

Didn't do anything to it yet but randomly got a check engine light today at 4000 miles.

Installed a CAI about a month ago but would've gotten a check engine light right after that if that was the issue I would assume and thats the only thing I've done to the engine.

Hopefully I can figure out the issue quickly.
my check engine light came on out of the blue at about 3500 miles was near the dealer so swung by had em pull the code. He said it was the "gas vapor" code, nothing to worry about. He said he couldn't reset the code, but I did when I got home and it hasn't come on since. just hit 6000 miles.

Long week... Polished and clay barred the paint, applied ceramic coating. De-chromed everything except for the Grill's "RAM" (Save that fro when I have to pull the grill to install the dual color LED bar). Painted the brake calipers. Tinted the tails and the mirror lights. Then broke out the plotter to make the truck distinctly mine. IMG_0211 copy.jpg

Usually caused by a loose gas cap. It will reset itself if it doesn't detect it again.

When filling the gas tank, set the pump handle on the slowest setting and when it clicks off, don't top it off.
Topping off the gas tank can and will spill gasoline down the gasoline vapor line, designed to burn vapors not liquids. Not saying you do this, just trying to pass on information.

Made custom mount for 67 Designs holder. Removed rubber liner. Cut piece of 30x30 mm exactly 4 inches long to give access to the 2 dash screws. Gives me option to add and mount iPad mini for Gaia GPS when we’ll go off road.

Awesome use of that tray area and smart to repurpose those screws. Makes you start to think of different ways to (re)use that tray. Well done.

That’s interesting as there are two baffles and an overflow drain for expansion. How 0.015 gallon of gas could cause so much headache.

I'm about to get the puppy washed, but it's already sunny out and about 70degrees. Not sure if I want to do it now, or just take it to a quick detailing place. They actually do pretty good work for $30.

Sure, it's a bunch of kids - but I get stopped at the light next to them every day on my way home and they are actually taught on how to wipe the vehicles down properly. Good for quick cleaning.

Mine has now come on 3 different times (P0456 I believe). I reset it once myself, next time the dealer did it, and now it came on for a 3rd time this AM. It has came on with varying fuel levels (this time was a shade over 1/2 tank), but never when full or soon after I fill it up.

Could be leaky gas cap
