What did you do to your Ram today???

That's what I thought.

Not short trips per se, but this poor truck has done 80% of it's life in traffic. 22.5 miles door-to-door to work every morning in Chicago traffic. BUT...I have exclusively used the tow/haul mode starting at 1253 miles on the truck. lol

Since tow/haul shuts off the auto stop/start, the starter has had a relatively normal life.

About 4 months ago, it didn't want to start up on the button like it always did. So I did some research here on our very own 5thgen forum. I replaced the OEM battery (which wasn't very strong at that point anyways) and I also cleaned the battery body ground on the fender and she was good, till she wasn't.

Tuesday morning, dead. Not even a click from the starter. I knew was screwed at that point.

Apparently (from what I could gather) it is a thing with 2019-2022 Rams. Not sure if it's an e-torque thing, or a normal 5.7 thing, but it's a thing. So I ordered a reman starter from NAPA in the morning and by 1:00 the driver delivered it to my driveway.
You do know the starter isnt used to restart the truck when the auto start/stop kicks in. The e-torque motor is what restarts the engine.

Why no warranty coverage?
