Today I finally received my roll of automotive suede material. I wrapped the mid dash trim accordingly.

I applaud you for a nice clean installation, but I am a bit undecided on how I feel about it.

I mean, I know my feelings on the subject are irrelevant, but I am thinking that suede is too retro for these "cutting edge" machines. Maybe if the color was darker, to match the rest of the trim.......

I don't know.

Points for originality though!

P.S. Fair warning - should you proceed to wrap the rest of the dash with suede you will be immediately exiled from this forum and have your man card revoked!

I don’t do anything gaudy, like wrapping the whole vehicle in suede. These ares are all touch points, and the hard plastics feel too cheap. The leather style from the Limited is nice, but those are parts are too pricey.

Just a suggestion, you mightve done it already, but try wiring the red backlit feature to your brake lights. I did mine like that and I love the way it looks
I was thinking about doing that with the vice design harness I have but unfortunately the "NEW TO ME" ssc2's are not working properly. 1 of the 2 has the backlit feature that works so I'm going to get it replaced soon.

What are your thoughts about the install and how they function?
The install wasn’t all that bad. Getting the lower trim panels off was the most aggravating. I managed to do it without breaking tabs.

I followed the aiming procedure from Morimoto and the output is excellent. Far superior to the reflector LEDs. The signature lights are very bright, especially compared to the dim signature lighting on the OEM headlights. I also configured them for sequential turn signals.

I am experimenting with having the turn signals as DRLs so that the upper brow is on in yellow and the signature lighting is white. The DRL setting can be turned off, so easy to experiment with.

Over the course of about a week i tried my hand at welding and a little fab work (if you want to call it that). I bought some Diode Dynamic SSC2’s from @Waterfowler41 and made my own chase mount lights mounts to fit under my bed cover. Also this is the biggest harness I’ve made to date and the most soldering I’ve ever done in one go.

Nicely done! I like the slim low-profile look of your bracket design. Very similar look to my CLA brackets by GODZ, but these are slimmer and offer more of a sleek appearance.
