And now the stupid mother ******* give me the truck back with the steering wheel off-center by about 3° to the right.

Was perfectly centered when it went in. A while back some of you asked why I serviced the drive shaft myself instead of letting the dealer do it, because of sh** like this (n)

Truck never should have come out of the alignment bay like this, zero pride in workmanship today and it's across all industries.

Edit, asked the service writer for pre and post alignment settings since he said the camber, caster and toe were way off.

Post alignment, yeah, wayyy off:rolleyes:

Adjusting camber as indicated might cause steering to be off a bit, but they should have expected that and checked for it.

Actually, I usually keep them a little higher. I vacuumed this one down to gain access.

Yeah, I know that but they should have checked before they brought it out.
It's now on the 3rd attempt to center the steering wheel.
Service writer gave it back after the 2nd attempt and said its right. I drove it 500' and the steering wheel is at 1 o'clock.

Took it back again and now the service writer tells me it's straight and that's the best he can do that the roads have a crown.
I hate to be that person that then tells you my life experience working on cars, that you're dead wrong and this is what you need to do but at that point he needed to be dealt with.

He went and got the shop foreman and explained the situation to him, the shop forman then drove it and didn't get out of the lot before he could see the steering wheel was off.
He came back and said "it's not a little off, it's way off and shouldn't have been delivered like this".
He took it back and put a different alignment guy on it and said we'll get it right because it's not right right now.
The service writer just stood there looking like a dumbass.

Lesson, be educated before entering these shops and don't accept sub par work

Yup! Not rocket science.

My wife took my last Nissan to the dealer for alignment after a lift. She said it was a little off when she pulled across the lot, so she just circled back. Told them if she could tell it was off, no way her husband wouldn't know and be pissed. She said the tech was very apologetic, fixed it right away. Truck drove great after that and I continued to have the truck serviced there until I finally accepted their offer to buy it back.

Well, shop forman and drove it and then put his lead suspension guy on it, literally 10 minutes later the truck is perfect.
So big thank you to him but the rest of that service group can suck a donkey root.

Pisses me off that it took 4 hours and three attempts on something this simple

Had an alignment done at a Pep Boys in California once. Took them three hours and said it was good. I got in and, like you, the steering wheel was ****ed quite a bit. Took it back, and the alignment guy got in, drove it around parking lot. Pulled it back onto alignment rack, adjusted the tie rods by eye, backed it off lift, drove it around parking lot and said it was good. Steering wheel was straight when he was done, but I never took it back there and had it checked by another shop when I got back home to Nebraska and it was off.

I had an AWD Chrysler 300 recently. Absolutely loved that car, but not long after buying I started noticing a vibration. Took it back twice. They kept balancing the tires. On the third trip back, I suggested maybe it isn't tires. Doesn't really feel like tires. Their response was it's normal. We have another car on the lot and it does the same. Wow, that pissed me off. I went back to my salesman, because service had their heads up the a$$e$. He said, sorry about this, but off the record try these other dealerships. I won't even use our service.

Before I got it in somewhere else, I got a recall notice for loose front drive shaft bolts that could cause driveline vibrations... 🙄

I generally don't like anyone to touch my vehicles, but I buy new ones for their reliability and warranty, so I can focus on my old ones...

Damn that looks like an awesome design! Looks like you can remove the logo areas?

I’m never a fan of logos on items. I get why they do it, but it’s annoying. My Jeep has them in the same way on the rock sliders & rear bumper. I was able to cover the cut out logos on my front & rear armor. Has a front bumper custom built with no logos.

It’s been a while since I’ve had an aftermarket bumper on anything so I’m still trying to get used to the high profile look.

But yes the panels are removable. This bumper doesn’t have a mount for fog lights so I made a place for them. I’ll probably need to remove the panels anyways to have any useful light coming thru.

Installed Vice Design’s rear tow brackets (with Amazon front tow hooks)…turned out ok. The driver side is a bit crooked, not sure what is wrong. It was a little hard to bolt on. Between the frame, bracket and tow hook, something is a bit off.

Also installed a AJT fob…I don’t know why, doesn’t do anything special. Basically the same size.

Btw, it’s cold out out!

Today I made brackets to replace the factory ones. Those plates that sell don't work, I'm an engineer and I'm telling you exactly that. Do not pay attention to the protruding part, it will be bent and an arc will stand on it.
please let me know if you're willing to make these for sale! i am interested in a pair

Something's not aligned properly on the driver's side. Loosen the bolts holding the bracket on and see if you can straighten it out then retorque them.

As for the keyfob, it is a little smaller and a lot lighter. I also ike the the buttons are recessed some and not flush like the factory fob. Less chance of accidentally pushing one

Very cool! I’m sure the look will grow on you.

Good call. Went out after dinner and adjusted it. Still not perfect, but looks much better than it did.
