What did you do to your Ram today???

Stopped by my parents condo to water the plants while they are retired and living half the year in the Philippines.

Decided to do my 2nd oil change on my RAM while I was there. I do it yearly since I don't come close to the mileage required, I still had 50% left on my monitor, but don't want to risk my powertrain warranty by going over a year.

Just as easy as I remembered (using the 2 zip lock bag method on the filter), rather pleasant to be honest, almost relaxing.

Hopefully this time my Blackstone Labs oil sample makes it to Blackstone, have about 4,200 miles on this sample using Shell Rotella Gas Truck 5W-20. It will be interesting to see how the motor is breaking-in.

WOW nice setup.

"Dress Right Dress"......the term used in the military meaning neat and organized, basically your sergeant's way of saying he has OCD.

Lol, I was in the Army back in the day, I'm now a 46 years old slob, but some things from back then are still with me.

If you notice, I don't have any funnel in that picture, it's still in the house because I didn't want to get any dust on it (on then in my engine) while I was draining the oil.

You nailed it, I'm very OCD about doing oil changes, especially for my baby :)

Installed FA200 dashcam front and rear. Insulated one internal rambox to hold 4 bottles water using rigid foam sheet. installed used soft folding cover to truck bed. Inside now relaxing with a beer as Texas is far to hot to be doing all this stuff!

Would love to see rambox pics!

Black emblem and some reflective concepts decals in white.

Is the B2 exhaust stainless steel? I went to their website and it doesn't indicate the material, just black or polished. The prices are affordable, but I would like a comparison video of sound. Looks like you got the least aggressive option, but is there sound improvement, cuz really that's what it's all about. Maybe get a little performance too.

That's the Moderate version. I was looking at them but decided on the Borla Atak. There are MANY videos of exhaust but I will tell you, videos don't do any exhaust justice. You really need to hear them in person or take a chance.

I’m not 100% on the material.

The sound though is fantastic. Leaps and bounds better than stock even though this is the “moderate” version. Definitely sounds like there’s a 400hp hemi under the hood now. Great rumble during acceleration, quiet as stock during cruise

I don’t have a before video but this after the muffler and 5” tip install.

Ordered the hellwig sway bar off Amazon only paid $121.00 for it. It signed up for the Amazon credit card and got $150.00 off the order it was listed for $271.00 I almost feel like a thief 😀
Man, if I accepted every credit card come-on deal I see...but then I'd have a wallet full of them.

I have found that the flyer points on the Chase Southwest Rewards card offers the best value. Years ago I would just accept the $1 for 1000 points rebates and occasionally get an Amazon gift card or refund against my balance. The flyer points conversion rate is much better, and I can often take free trips. Your mileage may vary. For sure, the one-time order rebate is a sweet deal.

Here they are...

For the dashcam I filed a slot in the cowl behind the mirror. In the rear I could not tuck the cable under the headliner so I zip tied some foam around the cable and pressed it into the gap. I removed the top console to route the cables from behind the mirror and fed all the wires down through the front pillar. I used a fusetap to F33 (Power) and F66 (Auxiliary), Thanks to Hal9001 for that!

I still have to put a piece of insulation in the bottom of the rambox (somehow I missed that). I used aluminum foil adhesive tape to join everything.

I need to put a piece of neoprene/foam between my tailgate and the bed as I realize I have a 3/4" gap

I will pay off the full balance when the bill comes and probably never use the card again. I always use my master card which gives 2 percent cash back, I pay that balance off monthly to avoid paying interest.

I have the sense that the 3.21 gearing makes a big difference in fuel economy. I have the 3.92, and intially it seemed exciting to have the better accelerating gearing. However, before buying I also trusted that I really would see 17 city 22 highway. HA! My combined says 16, but when I calculate economy at fillup, it's more like 15, 15.5. So now I wish I had the 3.21.

My question to you is, has your fuel economy been consistent, or has it changed over time? You say 566 mi is the best ever since you had it. My Dodge Dakota, now 20 years old with 198,000 miles, didn't vary much in its history. Pure interstate (long trips) offered the best. So I don't expect fuel economy to get better.
It's all over the place. One tank will be 16 mpg and the next will be 14 mpg. Even though I'm doing the same thing (running errands and commuting to work) there's enough variables to make it hard to compare tanks (red lights, traffic, weather, etc.).

I've had fill-ups that I'm estimated 400 miles to empty and fill-ups that estimate over 500 miles to empty. Summer blend gives me about 1mpg better than winter blend.

I hand-calc out of habit. My last truck was old with 320K miles and a diesel so too much fluctuation in fuel economy and I knew something was wrong.

With this truck I it's more of a curiosity to see how it compares to what the truck calculates. The truck is consistently .3-.6 mpg more than what I hand calc.

Unless something lights up on my dash or I see a puddle under the truck I enjoy my American V-8 (assembled in Mexico ;) ). Sometimes I can go a few extra miles between fill-ups and sometimes I can't (but it was worth it (y)).

Just my .02

Do you have prime? I think they give me 5% back on amazon because I have prime. I think it's still 3% with them if you don't. I use mine all the time. Everything else is 1 or 2%, I can't remember. Plus it's stainless steel which is kinda cool ha.
