What did you do to your Ram today???

It’s just a matter of convenience in that you won’t forget to press and you won’t have to ever think about it again. I don’t have one on my Ram, but I had one on my Jeep.

on the jeep you can just pull a fuse and not worry about it no?

OMGGGG!!!!! Really??!

The factory-installed 'eliminator' is 4mm away from the gear selector that MUST be accessed after every startup. How hard is it to just hit the button? Its not like they installed it behind the battery box under the hood...
yeap sometimes people got too much money to burn.

or in my culture we call that "pulling down your pants to fart" lol

It's for lazy people who don't want to push a button
And cars are for lazy people that don't want to walk.

It's a convenience that I can afford, not sure why anyone would care enough to take time out of their day for mild, and lazy, insults.

ETA - just installed it and it...is...glorious.

I'm one of those people who never seem to be satisfied with what I have. Or I get bored easy. When I decided on the 1500, I searched and knew that I didn't want e-torq, I had a '22 Gladiator and didn't want start stop again. I've been watching the posts on the 25's and it just helps me to know that I have a great truck now. I feel very fortunate that I haven't had any issues it, knock on wood.

i stand by my comment that these trucks are more reliable than what people think.
my truck is Arctic Ocean rated and i see more ram trucks out there than fords or GMs.

Yep. Just like auto-up windows for people that are too lazy to hold the button, memory recall for people that are too lazy adjust their seats and mirrors after the wife has driven it, automatic transmissions for people who are too lazy to use a clutch, the list goes on and on...

All of which usually require a button push, or some action to make work. Try again.

Even if you have the eliminator, you still have to start the vehicle to make it work. So still have to push a button for that one too. The real point is that automation does not need to be justified in order to feel useful to the user.

My comment was just a joke to get a reaction. Seems to have worked. I honestly don't care. It's funny to see people defending this with wild comparisons that really aren't the same.

I took your post that way. Just wanted to add to it.

MSRP was $91,785.
I originally, very quickly and surprisingly easily, got the New Sales Manager to commit to $72,535 over the phone..there was $13,750 of Manufacturers Rebates and the Dealership was cutting the rest off.
Again, I was shocked when they showed me the paperwork and another $500 was taken off (so ~$20,000 off at $72,035), and then that they threw in the ~$1500 Protection Package for free also!
They literally had it on their lot for less than a week..and had gotten this "extra" AlcHEMI Durango because the dealership that was supposed to get it declined it and it got reslotted to the dealer I bought it from.
I got amazingly lucky finding it and jumping on it quickly! I've been planning to buy one for about two months..I've mentioned it on the forum here.
My wife wanted Destroyer Grey. I was trying to talk her into Vapor Gray to match our Granite Crystal Metallic Ram. Her Miata is Meteor Grey, so she didn't want another Grey Metallic..I SO GLAD she insisted on the Destroyer Grey..it is SO SEXY in person!!
Here's the interior....Alcantara!!
(Also, it's three rows, six passengers..and actually leg room!)
You can't order the AlcHEMIs. You have to use Dodge's Horsepower Locator to find them. There are 250 each color of DG, VG Black Metallic, White Knuckle..and they were made at the end of the SRT392 run.
What a sweet rig! I looked at the 392 Durangos when they came out, but I wanted more space. Ended upt with Yukon and then the Wagoneer hit the streets with a 6.4, but by the time I was ready to buy one, they are far and few between.

Here's a crazy side story.....

My 2015 Challenger SRT392 had basically the same Alcantara interior...and I always thought from Day 1 that it smelled a little bit like donuts inside the car (for the 5+ years I had it). Yesterday, I open the rear hatch after it had sat overnight and guess what...I got hit with that slight donut smell!

Maybe it's me (my nose), but it's an extra reason to love the Alcantara! Super weird though🤔
So our GW has the Alcantara headliner and side pillars, which is really nice looking, but there is a distinctive smell. I am going to take a wiff when i get home and see if I get the Donut smell.

if it does it's probably the same guy who just finished a doughnut too.

or maybe he was eating a doughnut while making it.
