What did you do to your Ram today???

Today I cleaned the inside of my windshield! Small potatoes but man I hate when the inside is "greasy".

Autostop elimintor and Banks pedal arrive on Tuesday so those will get done shortly.
What's your beef with the autostop?

First, I just don't like the way feels when taking off from a stop, even with the etorque. Same with any other vehicle that had it, it's a negative driving experience in my opinion which is subjective so not something everyone would dislike.

Second, and this is what annoys me most, it gets pretty dang hot in my area. Auto stop means auto-A/C-off which is noticeable at longer lights in traffic.

One of the benefits of swapping to the TRX shifter is what happens when I shift over to S mode. Just sliding the shifter left disables auto stop and MDS.

It is rpm dependent. Mine has a 3.92 axle, so my 8th in T/H is about 60mph.

I guess I just done like how it shifts in T/H mode then. I also have a 3.92 axle.

Putting it into S mode doesn’t seem to change any dynamic other than no stop start and no MDS.

I'm 3.92 also..I was thinking it was ~60mph (my Challenger SRT392 in Track Mode shifted to 8th at ~60mph). I feel like the Ram is just a bit higher speed which is why I was thinking 65-70 (but I haven't been on the highway in quite a while)..I'm rarely over 60 much.

Here's a crazy side story.....

My 2015 Challenger SRT392 had basically the same Alcantara interior...and I always thought from Day 1 that it smelled a little bit like donuts inside the car (for the 5+ years I had it). Yesterday, I open the rear hatch after it had sat overnight and guess what...I got hit with that slight donut smell!

Maybe it's me (my nose), but it's an extra reason to love the Alcantara! Super weird though🤔
maybe... just maybe... it was the same guy who made it and he just finished doughnut before he touched it LOL

8th gear will actually kick in somewhere around 70mph, maybe 65 I forget.
I like pushing the T/H button like it's a Nitrous button😆
so,

Wow, I didn't even know the TRX swap was a thing. Pretty cool.

So......ummm.....

How is the eliminator superior to this button?

Because it presses it for you automatically

OMGGGG!!!!! Really??!

The factory-installed 'eliminator' is 4mm away from the gear selector that MUST be accessed after every startup. How hard is it to just hit the button? Its not like they installed it behind the battery box under the hood...

It’s just a matter of convenience in that you won’t forget to press and you won’t have to ever think about it again. I don’t have one on my Ram, but I had one on my Jeep.
