Anyone have the rain/wind guards for the windows? Which ones did you get? Thoughts on them? I was never a huge fan but the rain water pours in it I open the window even a crack and the wind chatter is horrible if my kids open the back window. Thinking these guards might help a bit.

I have the USVisor ones from eBay. Fit and look nice.

The roof is so narrow compared to the body and lower ledge of window, they are basically a requirement.

If you have the folding mirrors stay away from the USVisors.

With my application, when I folded the mirrors they hit the visors. I applied some PPF to the contact point on the visors to mitigate any blemishes on my mirrors. Also I was not pleased with the overall quality of the USVisors.

I plan on getting a set of the Mopar units as they are a factory trimmed so the mirrors wont make any contact.

Any of the in channel type look good. The stick on type are ugly and will fail leaving an adhesive residue.

Opted for the Mopar brand and I am completely satisfied. A little tricky to install compared to the stick on or in channel types but very doable.

Thanks man. Your post is why I ordered mine. I really like the look on your truck. That break up in color is fantastic.

So far I’m happy with it. Certainly better than the AVS one I had and for $95 shipped on amazon way better than the mopar sites

I am glad you shared your opinion. Personally, I think the gloss black would have looked worse, I like the matte finish.
Maybe a "wrap" of simulated carbon fiber would be an in-between possibility. It catches light pretty cool. I took some pics off of screen of the look from Youtube videos. It still has deep charcoal to black look and they make different level of gloss carbon fiber wrap products. Just my thought.....worth at least $0.02......Heh...Just had a thought.....You could ask Danielle19 if she would kindly photoshop the look onto a pic of your truck! She is really skilled and offered her photoshop skills for anyone trying to visualize a certain look on their rig. (y)

I received my trailer hitch from Car-ID today and this is exactly how it was delivered!! I’m livid, especially with everything else going on with my truck and the dealership. No box, no bubble wrap, just a tiny bit of SaranWrap pretty much!! Talk about bad luck!!

WESTIN PRO TRAXX 5" Wheel to Wheel Step Bars

I wanted to chime in on the Pro Traxx 5" wheel-to-wheel step bars. Finally got them on - I say finally because the install was confusing at best. I really wanted the wheel to wheel version this time for better access to the front of the bed because with my previous trucks I would stand on the edge of the normal length step bars and stretch sideways, not great. There weren't many reasonably priced setups for this - went with Westin 5" Pro Traxx for $316 form a vendor on Amazon. The Amazon prime price was a bit more I think.

I'll post photos. I did not use the last bracket (#4 of 4, connects to the underside of the bed) because it didn't fit my truck. The Ram has a large round mount sitting in the way of the Westin drop-down piece. My weight 190 lbs, so stepping on the rear edge of the step bars without that last bracket causes a small amount of flex in the bar but I can live with it. The other 3 brackets are connected to pre-existing studs which seem to be only sheet metal/reinforced sheet metal, not frame mounted. I'm going to call Westin and inquire about that last bracket, but will probably leave it with only 3 brackets per side. The rear brackets alone weighed 39 lbs! I never had 39 lbs of leftover parts before lol. Anyway, the following photos show: 1. the final product, 2. the instructions showing where the rear bracket is attached to the bed underside, 3. the actual bracket attached to the underside but having a bed mount in the way, 4, and finally the box pf leftover parts:
I have the non wheel to wheel version. Agree the instructions were a bit confusing. After a couple swear words trying to figure out which bracket goes where, on my model all the parts ended up being used and they fit great.

Blacked out the grille, a few emblems, tail lights, 24" rims, 2" wheel spacers....Think I want to get rid of a bit more chrome, probably the body molding and window trim. I want to leave just a few chrome accents.

I installed a Billet Technology Catch Can that I removed from my 2013 Ram that I traded in. I have a 5.7 HEMI and I took the OEM PCV line turned it around and reused it, added 2 small pieces of hose, and connected them to the catch can. If I need to go to the dealer, I just need to remove 1 bolt for the catch can, turn around the OEM PVC line and reconnect it. 5 minute job.

Swapped out my US Visors for the updated AVS visors. The US Visors were turning purple after only 7 months. I went with the US Visors because the original AVS had to be tucked into the B pillar and even then they would not stay in place. Well the new AVS Visor has small U shaped clipps that are installed in the window channel and keep them very secure. I tested it out at 65 mph on the freeway with the windows open and had no issues. Plus I really prefer the sleaker look of the AVS since it doesn't go down the front of the front widows like the US Visor. Vent 1.jpeg Vent 3.jpeg Vent 2.jpeg
