What did you do to your Ram today???

wait when did you trade for a eco diesel? I've been gone for three days and you goes crazy haha.
Yeaaaaah, I’m impulsive. I decided yesterday morning that I wanted to get an ecodiesel now b/c EV infrastructure will most likely not be developed enough for me to feel comfortable for years. Then I thought about the value of the truck right now, and figured this would be the best time to trade-in. Plus, the exact truck I built on the RAM website was in stock 15mi away from me.

It just made sense to take a small hit now to save in the long run. My first drive home in the ecodiesel was 3mpg short of doubling my average mpg in the hemi. When I’m approaching driving 30k miles a year, the mpg’s matter.

I don’t remember seeing you post any pics of the new truck 🤔

Took a road trip from West Palm up to Chattanooga with an empty car hauler, we’re bringing back a 1970 Dodge Dart, a cherry picker, and a Mopar 360 short block. Got 14.5mpg comin up I’ll report back on the mpg’s driving home!

It’s looks like it’s squatting but it’s actually perfectly level… :)

My May built Built to Serve hasn't had any issues.
Just checked the part number, I’ve got the bad window :/ kinda bummed about that. I think I’ll just shoot some silicone sealant on the window and hope that lasts

Yeah I’ve been looking for an eco diesel at my local dealer but they only have a limited. I would love to do it, but for 73k, I just can’t.

First item to break on me was the passenger sun visor. Good old plastic parts right. It gets constant use holding up my sunshade but kind of annoying it broke. I’ve seen other people with this issue I guess it’s somewhat common? Anyways I replaced it myself with a new one. Easy fix, took 5 minutes ( dealership is a PITA so I just did it myself )
Where did you find a replacement at? I cannot find one anywhere unless its the beige color on

I think the issue is i’ve become desensitized to the high truck prices, so I didn’t flinch at the price of this one. That’s probably an issue, but with how good this gas mileage is, I am keeping this one for a while. I’ve spent $2482 and change in 4 months of gas in the hemi and averaged 16.1 over those 4 months. I should be able to cut that almost in half if I drive like a granny, or my preferred method of not worrying about it should be 40%ish savings. I’m good with that, and it’s something to think about for you too.

Yeah I’m at 19k already and I’ve spent about 3 grand in fuel so far. How do you feel the eco diesel does off the line then the hemi? Do you miss the hemi power?

It’s definitely feels slower, but I don’t and won’t miss it at all. I really don’t drive trucks like I do cars, and they tend to keep me in check.

I feel you. I don’t really use much of this bad boys power either. Maybe if my dealer gets a Laramie 4x4 sometime soon I’ll go check it out. Hope to still get good money for mine though.

I got mine from MoparpartsInc.com, the part number should be color specific. Mine are black and the passenger one had PN: 6BP11TX7AE

Solved my wireless charging issue, since I didn't get the Ramcharger, I bought a 10W wireless charger from Best buy for $15, used some 3M double sided tape and plugged it in to the outlet. It is .37 in thick and works well with my Samsung S21 so far, I did this for using Android Auto. I also solved the AA issue with not playing 'offline' music on Amazon music, you have to open Amazon music 1st before using on the uconnect screen. Hope this helps someone out there.

I have a dog so I run CanvasBack covers in all of my vehicles. They're awesome in hatchbacks / wagons. the material is canvas, very strong, water doesn't penetrate it and they keep the back area clear. These basically cover every square inch and they're custom for your car model & options.

They released the Ram 1500 one a few weeks ago so I ordered it - https://www.canvasback.com/dodge-ram-crew-14555.html

Here's the issue, the RAM 1500 Limited's carpet is too nice. The underseat carpet is the thick stuff so their velcro attaches to it like glue but the floor board carpet on my Limited and probably other models too isn't sticky at all and it's treated with Scotch guard from the factory. They send you this pamphlet:

So we had to buy some mineral spirits from Home Depot. This part kind of sucks because you're basically stripping the scotch guard off your carpet and it took me about an hour. It's below freezing at my place so I ran the truck for an hour to get it hot enough inside, hair dried the carpet, applied the spirits then the rubbing alcohol then had to wait for it to dry then hair dry it again to get it nice and hot again. Then they give you these 3M velcro strips. I'll say this experience is pretty awful...where previous CanvasBack installs took 5 minutes, this took over an hour in the cold (I don't have a garage). As soon as I saw that pamphlet I should have returned them because while it's installed and it's doing okay, It's no where near as grippy and stuck on than if the bottom floor had the same underseat style of fabric that sticks to velcro.

Here's the final photo:

so as usual, it's a perfect fit and the dog is going to love it. I can even drop one or both seats independently or, with the exposed latches, I can put the floor mat back in there + a dog bed. It'll just keep all of the carpet..literally all exposed carpet is now completely covered so that's a win. If their adhesive strips hold up, I'll call it a win but if they peel back and fail, It'll be $300 wasted.
