Washed my dirty truck and put a wrap on the center stack and console.

The Rebel comes with a carbon fiber looking pattern on the trim and top of the center stack. The console is open cup holders and open storage tray. I replaced the console slider with one from the limited, but it had a faux wood look that clashed with the carbon fiber look, so I ordered a roll of satin finish carbon fiber vinyl wrap. Looks much better now.

New Diode Dynamics light pods and fogs!
Fogs- SS3 Pro SAE fog
Pods- SS3 Pro Driving beam

These little leds kick ***! The output is insane for the size and price. I was looking at either Rigid or Baja Designs but saw the YouTube vids for these guys and figured why not. Super happy with em!86815E99-5EB7-4DE9-A55B-B068DC59BA46.jpegE259F9E0-8E9C-43D9-A7B1-1DA64B9FC888.jpeg

Finally installed the Bilstein 5100s. Went with setting #4 for a 1.3” front lift. Will probably do ORP springs in the back or a small spacer to keep a little more rake. I like the stance with some rake but ground clearance was terrible from the factory and I’m in the northeast (Central MA), so that’s a problem for me.

A word of caution, this was a 10 hour job. We had all the tools, including 2 hydraulic jacks, coil spring compressors, impact gun, torque wrench, etc. The problem is that after just 1 year of ownership, the top strut nut was seized from rust on both sides, making it extremely difficult to disassemble the struts. The ride quality is good - a little stiffer than factory, but in a good way. But I would seriously recommend all DIYers to buy the 2 inch Rough Country Leveling Struts instead. Disassembly was the most time consuming step, and if I had to do it again, I would just buy a kit already assembled and scrap the old coils, dust boot, bump stop, etc. It’s just not worth the hassle.

Also, the UCA ball joint stud was free spinning when trying to tighten the nut back after install. This happened on both sides. Very frustrating. As others have recommended, it helps to use a pry bar to put tension between the UCA and hub assembly and use an impact gun to tighten while force is applied. This worked on the passenger side, but not the driver’s side. Instead, I would recommend getting a second jack and raising the hub assembly to create tension on the UCA. This allowed us to firm it up and torque it down properly. Just my $.02.

Getting closer! For the record I hate carpeting speaker boxes, unless they are a perfect cube. Either way, turned out pretty sweet.

That does look cool. I was thinking of doing the TRX look with that carbon on the dash parts.

Borrowed my dad's tractor to pull mine and my neighbors concreted mailboxes. Replaced two posts (in my yard) with a single post with 2 boxes. Looks much better with less clutter in my opinion. Pumped a few pounds of air in the airbags for the haul. Not a lot of tongue weight, but those bags really make a difference. I got a little ball busting from the guy at the hardware store though. Too lazy to unhook the trailer that I was going to need later anyway, so I used it to haul 3 bags of sakrete ha. IMG_6418[313].jpg

6000k Motomaster LED bulbs in - will drive later tonight to see how well they do.
They definitely match the GTR switchback turn signals though

You will not be disappointed. I have Lasfit 6k bulbs and they are STUPID BRIGHT!

Well, those lights are getting taken out today. Absolute garbage - cutoff is mediocre at best, and holy glare. Somehow, nobody flashed me as I drove around with them (it must have been due to me readjusting the height of the lights), but needless to say there was way too much light hitting the second floors of places.....

back to the Silverstar ZXE's for now

Here they are. Direct from Mickey Thompson. Haven’t installed yet but hope to get these on between now and Christmas.

Knocked out the rest of the projects on the truck yesterday. Started out with the AMP research power steps, the work great and sit pretty low when deployed, I’d say anyone with a lowered truck should probably not get these, they’re about 3-4 inches off the ground on mine and I just have a 2 inch rear level. Took my 3 and a half hours by my self, not to bad.

Next was the RDS fuel transfer tank and toolbox. I’m pretty impressed with it so far, the toolbox part is deeper than I was expecting. Tank holds 50 gallons, no direct tap into the truck though since it’s gas so I got a GPI transfer pump, works great!

Finally I installed the Husky mud guards, they say you don’t have to drill but the 3m tape it came with was pretty weak, i was able to drill into the well liners without removing the wheels which was nice.

been a hectic few weeks, so I will combine all my "today's" into one post.
Installed a OEM trailer brake controller and enabled it with help from @brotharon's post.
Picked up a new travel trailer and WDH and towed about 300miles to get her home.
Swatted a rock with the windshield somewhere near the MA/CT border and chipped it.
<couple day break>
Chip is now a 10 inch crack, scheduled windshield replacement for tomorrow.
Stained the front seat with a smashed chocolate chip from a granola bar.
Towed the trailer from Conn to Wash DC and back for an end-of-year camping trip. 1000 miles and the Truck did GREAT for a half-ton with 11,000 GCW.
Got 10.5 mpg over that 1000 mile trip. Not bad for a gasser.
Were you able to get the brake controller to show you the readout in the dash? I still can't get that to work.

I installed a front camera into the grill of my truck the other day. The picture quality looks like absolute butt, so I ordered a replacement camera. I got that this morning and hooked it up, but the picture quality is still trash. I guess the video connector I made is bad. I ordered a Z automotive connector because I was getting the runaround on the uninsulated female spade terminals that go into the back of the radio.

I plan on doing a write up with a bunch of pictures, but here’s a few in the meantime.

Defective connector (maybe) that I made:

At this point my replacement camera looks the same as the original, so either this camera just sucks or it’s the video connector like I’m thinking. The pictures doesn’t do justice for how bad it looks. (It looks 8-bit like nintendo)

As you can see in my signature, I have a 2021 Laramie and I have all the electronics. I have the camera in the third light position, because the rearview mirror uses it in digital display mode. BUT...I don't have that cargo camera button on that screen. I didn't see it as an option either. Do you know what package it's a part of?

Sorry to hear that. Did you have the diodes placed right in the lens? They should be in the lens at 3 and 9 o clock. If they are at 12 and 6, the light dispersion is close to what you are experiencing. I had similar issue until i had them in there right.
I had to adjust my Lasfits way down too, but was never near 2nd floor height. With about a car distance away, they'll hit about mid trunk. And cutoff is totally flat.

You wouldn't have a cargo camera. That's only for the HDs. People have added an additional camera and then enabled it. But, it's not available from the factory on 1500s.

Not sure. I’m guessing you won’t have it because your cargo camera (cmhsl) goes to your rearview mirror, not the display. I not know if the wiring is in place to show it in both locations. I enabled mine with the tazer dt.
