Does that mean you’ll have to reactivate Sirius and pay a fee to transfer to a new radio?
I doubt there will be any issue with transferring the XM account... I transferred mine from my 4th Gen and it was easy-peezy.

I assume that will all be handled by the dealership. I'm certainly not going to pay anything out of pocket!

I just got a message on my phone when I opened my Uconnect App stating that I should download the new App as the existing one will no longer work after 4/15/19. It is offering me version 3.3.4 (124). Last updated March 1, 2019. Although I downloaded my current Uconnect app after March 1. Hopefully there will be improvements. Has anyone done it yet and see any differences? The "What's New" only says Performance Improvements and bug fixes.

I've transferred Sirius a few times in the past with no issue. However, once when I had a module in the head unit replaced in my 2013 Volvo I had to pay a fee to Sirius to reactivate a new radio. They considered it a new device.

I'm not leaving the dealer if Sirius is not activated.

RamCares - thanks for responding via private message and I did receive a call from UConnect today and they let me know that my issue is still being researched with the engineers.

Bram2019 - all paired phones and devices are deleted and nothing plugged in... Thanks for suggestion but still nothing but continuous resetting.

MJP - I agree unreal. I guess bragging about my fancy new truck has come to an end.

UPDATE:
So after a week of continuous resetting I go out to start my truck on this past Sunday and its completely dead, no lights, no power, nothing.. So I had it towed to the dealer monday morning (can you imagine the sight of a new truck being towed). They kept the truck for a couple days and today the dealer informed me the continuous resetting drained the battery...but they were finally able to reload the UConnect software and it is no longer resetting. Battery is recharged and I picked my truck up and UConnect is working fine.
I really like my truck again!

That’s really odd. Maybe the battery needed to be completely drained so the radio could do a proper reset of itself, and allow itself to take an update?

It has me wondering with my issues (audio cutting in/out and rear camera lines disappearing - at the same time) that a proper reset of the truck is disconnecting the battery for a few hours?

You'd think the dealers shop foreman would have thought to disconnect the battery the first time they tried to re-install the software... for shame.

I ready in an earlier thread in the dorm that if you disconnect the negative terminal for 15 mins and reconnect you can increase responsiveness. Something about resetting the factory settings. Not sure if it is true. But my question is when you disconnect the battery and reconnect it don't have to reconfigure all Uconnect settings? Favorite stations, paired phones, contacts? Or are they saved somewhere in the Uconnect?

@RamCares

Please let us knot the status of the voice recognition on the Uconnect. Specifially why the microphone is grayed out for voice entry for addresses in Nav, and voice free response to text messages and replies. In both situations, the grayed out icons means that particular software feature is diasbled. We all paid over $1200 for this 12" Uconnect, and it seems that the product you show is not fully complete. Then we should be reimbursed until it is. Please respond, and contact Uconnect, as you subcontracted to them. There are many threads on this.

WE SHOULD ALL DO THIS:

The Uconnect Remote Start has faild 5 times over the past 3 days. This morning, while trying it, I saw the Help > Developer Feedback link on the App. I sent them a message and they replied. See below. I think we should all send them feedback to get them to expedite this. It is not a new, cutting edge feature we are asking for, it is enabling the existing features, and ones that have been available on other platforms and devices for years. I'm talking about the Voice Recognition for (1.) Address Entry (2.) Text Message/Reply.

My Message to Uconnect Developer Feedback:
Please activate the voice recognition free text response and also address entry in the Uconnect 12-in system. We've paid $1,200 for the system and both options are there but great out and inactivative. Please activate these in your next update as a tremendously large number of people are complaining about this.

Uconnect's Reply: (same day)
Dear ,
Thank you for contacting us and for your valuable feedback. We have provided your suggestion to the development team and will hopefully incorporate it into a future release of the mobile application.

Thank you for being a valued customer.

Uconnect Service Operations Team

PS - @RamCares Thank you, but I already have emailed them directly in the past. They just push it off to Uconnect or HERE Maps.

This is very disappointing and unfair to your customers who paid over $1200 for your product, which may not be ready for live usage and warrant that cost. Hopefully, you can fast tract this unlock of the features. As mentioned, they are not something that have to be invented, rather just programmed, or unlocked.

Does anyone know if the Uconnect or XMGuardian App is able to to a radio backup? It would be great if you could backup all your presets, favorites, etc. for both nav and radio and XM in the even that the battery gets disconnected like when you bring it in to the dealership and they have do to work on it. Don't you just hate it when you get your vehicle back and you have to start from scratch on your radio, especially with the more features and systems it has. Can it do a backup? If not, that would be a great idea. wink!

PS - can anyone confirm that disconnecting the battery will clear all the presets?

Many problems with voice recognition when using nav

Any idea when update might actually make it actually usable

So true to her word Diane from Uconnect actually called me back today as she promised she would last week. Very impressed with her performance. She she said the developers told her that the voice recognition on screen buttons are there because they initially thought about doing it but must have ran into a bug and decided against any voice recognition functions for texting or navigation search. She said they left the buttons there thinking maybe someday they would be able to get it to work. She then said the more input the better as she's been getting a few requests for it lately and suggests everyone continued to mention it as they will document it and that would make them have it become a priority and get it to function. I mentioned to her that it's disappointing then Uconnect is giving us a product that's not fully complete yet they're not willing to reimburse the customers for those missing elements. To wish she said she can totally understand that and will make those recommendations also. Not crossing any fingers but just figured I would share

My Uconnect had a few issues that were just minor nuisances really. The FM radio volume would fluctuate intermittently, it reset itself every once in a great while, each time I started the truck it didn't remember which track was playing on the usb thumb drive, etc.

I brought my truck to the dealer to have the two recalls completed. Like the OP, when I checked my VIN on the mopar site, it also said I had the latest version, but I asked them to check anyway and update if necesaary, which they did.

Now my radio resets itself every four minutes, like clockwork!!! Precisely every four minutes on the dot!! I brought it back today and asked them to try again, and now they're saying that the radio is bad and needs to be replaced!

So now I have to live with a radio that reboots every four minutes until the module comes in, whener that might be!! Awesome!!!

If you're experiencing minor issues with your Uconnect, you may want to reconsider having it updated!!

Good luck!
So, the new radio came in and I took my truck in first thing yesterday morning to have it installed. I received a call at around 2:00 in the afternoon stating that the new radio did not fix the issue and the problem persists. The radio still reboots itself every four minutes!

They have no idea what the problem is. They have been “working with Chrysler and Sirius” all day to try and root cause it. Keep in mind, the issue only presented itself after they “updated” the Uconnect software.

They offered me a loaner, and said they’re going to keep plugging away on it for the rest of the day, and continue on Saturday, they’re closed Sunday, but they’ll continue on Monday, etc. Or, I can come pick it up and drop it back off some other time!!! Uh......no!!! So, I go to pick up the loaner, and my truck I sitting outside in the parking lot! Really “plugging away” at it!

Needless to say, I am quite frustrated! To add insult to injury, my $600+ car payment was auto-drafted yesterday and I’m driving a POS Jeep Compass which, by the way, also makes the weird drone/humming sound that many of us RAM owners have experienced on our trucks!

I purchased a 2020 Ram limited 3 months ago. Shortly after I bought it I went to use the NAV system on the 12" screen and it froze up every few min for about 3 or 4 min . On and off kept freezing and coming back. Needless to say it makes the NAV system useless. I also noticed the phone drops every call after about 5 or 6 min of talking. I brought it to the dealer 4 times over the last few months and they could not fix the problem. Finally they told me there is a software update due out and I just have to wait. so I have a usless NAV system and I drop every bluetooth call after a few min and there is no fix yet - just waiting. I bought this truck in large part due to the screen and I wanted to use the NAV system a lot instead of my phone! Very disappointed in this system and RAM - I will give it a couple weeks and then I contacting a warrenty attorney -enlosed is a video I took of my system and exactly what it does (or does not do!)
