Great. Coming from a 4th Gen RAM with an 8.4 screen w/Nav that has worked flawlessly for the last 5 years this really has me concerned. I splurged for the 12” display and will be pretty darn pissed if it’s nothing but a pile of junk. Sounds like they released Uconnect 5 before thorougly testing. That’s just unacceptable for what we pay for these trucks.

Mine work flawlessly, no wireless CarPlay...that's a whole different situation.

Can anyone tell me how to display XM presents while also displaying the CarPlay screen? XM presets used to be in a banner at the bottom while CarPlay was displayed automatically on my 21 Ram Uconnect 4 but can’t figure out how to have them display on the 22 Ram Uconnect 5.

Mine works fine. I'd just like to be able to get rid of the Alexa app. It loads every single time and you can't delete it.

I have the same issue ... the latest update didn't help. The icons will show up after a soft reset, but disappear within a day.

Same here except mine disappear immediately next time the power is cycled. Very frustrating they can’t fix something so simple.

I actually opened a RAM Care case to address the issues with the 12" display/Uconnect 5 and also some weird tones I was hearing, which ended up being the Active Noise Cancelling system. After lots of frustrating back and forth with the dealer, and with the assistance of RAM Care, the dealer ordered a new amp (the ANC module is in the amp), which I'm having installed tomorrow. My RAM Care case manager was very helpful, but closed my case after the latest update did resolve some issues. I'm going to email him with the issues I'm (we) are still having and see if he has an answer or will open a case. I know he has direct access to the Uconnect engineers and usually gets back to me fairly soon.

Same issue here from day one. 2022 RAM Limited. I have to reset or change the theme on the radio to have the icons for seats and heated steering wheel show up. Latest software and the dealer cannot fix (its been in service a few times now). Pretty sad for such an expensive truck!

If you press the 3 little lines at the top of the screen it will give you a drop down. From there you can drag any of those icons to the Alexa shortcut to replace it. Not sure what trim you have but I just put the surround camera shortcut up there to get rid of it. I'm sure any of them will work.

I had an interesting issue today with the 12” system. My iPhone was connected to CarPlay and I was getting a phone call as I parked and turned off my car. I answered as I opened my door. Came back to the truck later and none of the audio worked at all. Radio stations or Siri, no audio. And my dash was stuck on the image of receiving a call from earlier. Rebooted my phone and restarted my truck, same issue.

I pushed the help button and called Ram support which worked. They advised me to do the soft reset by holding the volume button for 10 seconds after we hung up. I asked what to do of that didn’t work and they advised to go to the dealership. Here’s the interesting part. I asked if unplugging the battery for 15 minutes would be a good troubleshooting step? They said if I did that, warranty wouldn’t cover any electrical repair.

There's no way they could prove that you unplugged the battery. All they'd be able to see is that the power source was lost. I'd blame it on the etorque system and say it was their faulty electric system.

Following this Seat and Steering Wheel Icon problem. I have the UConnect5 in my newly purchased 2022 RAM 2500 Big Horn. I'm wondering if it's an actual software problem vs a hardware problem?

Although I do occasionally have a software issue I have not seen the disappearance of these Icons. My system does sometimes take a minute to get back on track when I cycle the ignition. Seems my issues may be in the memory function. IE, if I'm listening to music on a thumb drive, when I turn the truck off like when I'm fueling and then restart, it may have changed over to the radio frequencies.

The touchscreen is way behind in its abilities to work properly. Sometimes I have to touch an Icon several times in order for it to work.

You would think for the price of these systems, (pretty much the same as a computer), and the availability of Alexa or Siri, you should be able to tell the UConnect5 system what you want it to do and never have to tap an Icon other than the initial setup.
