TSB #24-001-20 A/C Fix. Has anyone had it done yet? Plus are you happy with the results?

I am hoping y’all can help after reading this thread. I ordered and bought a 2023 TRX and the AC is awful! Does anyone know if this AC issue still exists and if they can do this TSB for a 2023?
2023's should not be having any a/c issues. If so, you need to take it to the dealer.

My A/C is ice cold.

It’s at the dealer and has been for 2 weeks, the truck has 200 miles on it and they state it’s normal although we tried another TRX and there was a clear difference. I need that TSB number. All the dealer wants to do is push the truck and the problem onto me.

The TSB was for a retrofit. A 2023 would already have the retrofit. There must be some other issue as well, if you drove another TRX and it was ok. why would the dealer attempt to apply the TSB?

Perhaps you should take it to another dealer (sounds like it to me).

Did you read ANY of the thread before diving right in today?

I’ve read 10 different threads and it seems like many TRX owners have the same issue. One guy at the dealer owns one and his 22’ is good but his brothers 23’ is terrible. They don’t have a solution and star/Chrysler engineering has stated there is nothing wrong. It takes 10 minutes to cool the truck down, even at max AC the air flow is light, temperature seems fine but the ventilated seats barely work (I cant feel any flow).

Ventilated seats only "feel" vented only if the cab is cooled down first. The TSB # is in the header of the thread topic.

Yeah I figured TSB number in the thread header was the one, I was hoping there was a new one for newer years. The dealer isn’t going to do anything for me so I suppose I need to take it to another dealer. I have a 2020 ford explorer too and the difference between that and the TRX is night and day.

Looks its time for you to perform the "A/C HACK".

I would start by checking and replacing your cabin air filter, if you haven't done so recently since yours seems to be restricted airflow more than a temperature issue.

They work very well and are easy to forget about.
I’ve put a new cabin filter a month or two ago and still weak. On heat it seems stronger but unfortunately on a/c or max a/c it just can’t keep up. It’s reaching 90+ now in Oklahoma and the a/c almost is a driving factor to trade her in.

********UPDATE 6/29/23**********

Here in Oklahoma it’s getting HOT! 110 or so and I got desperate, I opened up the glove box ripped out the cabin air filter and BAM I was hit with strong blowing air. I went back on my orielys acct and seen I had purchased a HEPA filter and read all the reviews of it killing the circulation. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I drive in 95 degree high humidity all the time. My AC works great (had the TSB tho). What results do the TRX folks get with the hack?

I was wondering that as well, with the bigger engine. Seems as the internals regarding the a/c would be the same.

You’d think so. Especially in 2023. Unless they never applied the TSB to the trx, which would be really really dumb. The hack will show of that’s what the problem is.

I’m going to have to try the hack, the dealer and star don’t say the TSB applies to my 23 TRX.

Shouldn’t be too hard to do. I would think the coolant lines are in the same location, but can’t say for sure. Here’s a pic of mine. I’d get a vent thermometer as well to measure before and after. Let us know how it goes!

Or just get a set of the clamps at Harbor Freight and clamp off the line leading into the heater core.

Mine is in for cracked exhaust manifolds now which they are about done with. They are going to check the AC and apply the recall next. The 23 loaner they gave me is ice cold. My truck is fine with the front windshield IR ceramic tint but if I can get this level of chill in the cab that this 23 has, that would be sweet
