For the tires, they are known to be out of balance from Ram. If the dealer cannot “road force” balance them, find a competent tire shop that can. My first Ram had the same issue and the dealer rebalanced them Wrong. I went to a local shop with a Road Force machine and they did it right. The same tire shop did my 2020. Mine was missing weights on one wheel from the factory. I do not trust my local dealer to service mine so I paid the $77 out of pocket for perfection. I will use a dealer about 45 mins away for any warranty work. So far, so good.
Good information! I will try that. Thank You.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Hopefully dealer will get you squared away soon.
I love my two-year old RAM. It has had a few minor issues, all of which have been addressed by dealer.

Cheers,

I had the same vibration when brand new. Symptom was like a classic wheel balance issue. Vibration in the steering wheel and looking at the passenger seat headrest, you could see it shaking. My dealer has a road force balance machine. They did all four wheels and two of them failed and couldn't be balanced. They ordered me two brand new tires and when they arrived they road force balanced the two new ones and my truck is solid up to 95 mph which is as fast as I've taken it.

Hello Fellow RAM owners,

New to this forum and please forgive me if I start with a negative note…

About 5 months ago I bought a 2020 RAM 1500 Limited.

This is my second RAM (my fourth Chrysler vehicle) and at the beginning I liked the truck but unfortunately, I am having nothing but problems with it.

When I bought the truck, I also bought a few Mopar accessories for it and it was a long hustle to get the dealer to deliver the accessories.

Then I had problems with the truck vibrating at speeds between 60 and 75 mph.

Took it to the dealer but the problem remains. The dealer attested that I may have tire problems, but they could not help me with it.

A few weeks ago, I started the truck, shift it to drive and when I started to drive the truck shut off. Crank it again and everything was normal.

Yesterday I started the truck inside of the garage, shifted in gear and when started to roll the truck shut off again. Now the truck doesn’t start. It is completely dead.

Call Dodge roadside assistance and the sent a technician. He checked the truck and he said that he could not help.

Call Dodge RAM 24h customer service several times and they do not answer the phone.

Anybody else having similar problems?

Thanks,

I am incredibly sorry for the trouble, @MMalucelli. As you mentioned the truck was being towed to the dealer today, I would be more than willing to get a case escalated on your behalf to a customer care specialist who can work alongside both you and your dealer while your truck is in service. Please send me a private message when you can to get this process started!

PS - Thanks for the tag @jdefoe0424!

Thank you, Mark, for stepping in.
Since I already had to contact Chrysler Care with the previous issues, I already have a case number. I will send it to you through a pm.

I believe that I have some good news…
Chrysler put me in touch with Classic RAM dealer in Pineville, NC.

Since the roadside service could not move the truck (locked in gear and parking brakes activated and not releasing) the Service Director Mr. Brad Johnson from Classic RAM came to my location and together with the technician Mr. Joel were able to disable the parking brake and manually shift the transition to neutral.
They were very attentious and I am very thankful to them.

After that Chrysler roadside towed the truck to the dealership for service.

Hopefully they will be able to completely fix it in reasonable time.

I also want to mention that despite the problems, I like the truck and I also like the RAM brand; I am just frustrated for so many issues without a comprehensive answer.
Thanks,
Marcos

My case update…
(Please forgive me if my English is far from perfect as it is not my native language).

My 2020 RAM 1500 Limited was towed to the Classic RAM dealer in NC where the Service Director is being very attentious so far.

I have been told that the problem that caused the truck shutting off and not starting was due to a faulty computer. According to them it should be replaced under warranty.

Also, according to the dealer, they try to force balance the wheels and tires and they found that the vibration problem is due to the fact that all 4 tires are defective.

They contact Goodyear and they ask for a warranty replacement for the 4 defective tires.

Again, according to the dealer service manager Goodyear has agreed to replace the tires, but they want to charge me about 300.00 dollars because I used the truck for about 5 months.

I explained to the dealer that I am not inclined to pay for that because when I first bough the truck (brand new) at the dealership I noticed the vibration problem and I took the truck back for service.
By then the original dealer try to balance the wheels and tires, but they said that the problem could not be completely fixed due to the tires. So it is clear that the tires were defective since new.

Now the Classic RAM dealer and Chrysler are trying to work with Goodyear to solve the problem but, I was told that Goodyear attested that I should not have driven the vehicle after noticed the vibration.

I bought the truck to work and I took it to the original dealer where I bought it to fix the vibration problem.

What do they expect me to do? Wait for five months until they decide to take responsibility and fix the problem?

I understand that problems happen but, in my point of view this is not right.

Well I think I should not be that disappointed once that it is clear that Goodyear is not standing for values as honesty, accountability and common sense that are foundational to this Country.

I've been telling people for months how bad Goodyear tires are!!! You're like the 6th person to experience problems with Brand New stock Goodyear's. But glad they got everything sorted out. Faulty computer definitely doesn't surprise me but of course they'll have a new one installed under warranty

Decades ago I thought Goodyear was a quality tire company but at the time all new Land Rovers came with Goodyear Wrangler HP’s, pure junk on every Rover I’ve owned. Now I prefer Michelin however my options are limited for my Rover in the stock size, 255/55-19. The Ram has some cheap new tires that I haven’t concerned myself with in Maui, but I’m going to move back to Colorado and while I’m not an expert the tires I have look like the tread pattern you put on a Corvette. Absolutely no sipes on them. I’d confirm the brand but like Goodyear, they will be replaced in short order when I get home.

Brother has 4 new Goodyear tires he tried to sell me, I wouldn’t let him pay me to take them, always junk.

I hear that. I have a friend that works at Goodyear tire Co. Down in AZ...he does the re-treading of the aircraft tires. He's always told me that Goodyear tires are great for everything....except trucks lmao! He said there's more recycled rubber in Goodyear truck tires than ANY other brand combined. Personally....I really like my new Falken Wildpeak tires! Nexens are good, as well as BFG, Hankook and Pirelli (spelling?) Lol

I totally agree with them about you shouldn't have driven the vehicle with the bad tires. IT WAS ON THEM TO REPLACE THE TIRES AND THAT WAY YOU WOULDN'T HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE WITH THE BAD TIRES. What do they care that you drove it all this time? The tires were bad from the get-go so now that they are finally owning up to it, there should be no issue. The tires are warrantied against manufacturing defects and the defects were reported immediately. They are totally in the wrong here, don't let them get away with it.

I don’t know where to post this but the Maui dealership fixed everything. I still think the tires are junk but that isn’t their fault, my buddy back in Colorado put these on Advanta Hp-z-1 on it. They look fine if you want a sports car looking tire on your Ram, and that’s it. They suck and the minute my truck makes it back to Colorado they will be replaced.

Hello Fellow RAM owners,

Here is just a quick update on my 2020 1500 Limited.

The dealer Classic Dodge RAM in Pineville NC service my truck, exchange one of the computers and now the truck is running normal.

On the vibration problems the dealer found out that all the four tires were out os specs and they had to exchange it.
What a surprise right…? Goodyear did not stud behind its product and they charged me $300.00 for the months that I drove the truck, even though I reported that the truck was vibrating since day one and the dealer could not balance it.

The dealer forced balance the new tires, but the truck is still vibrating.
These Goodyear tires just don’t balance, and the vibration seems to increase as the tires wear.
Next Tuesday I will be bringing the truck back to the dealer.

I believe that is important to mention that I am very pleased with all the efforts from the dealer’s part and from the Service Director in trying to help me with my truck, but I think that Goodyear is clearly proving that the company does not care for its customers and its brand.

I will never buy another vehicle with Goodyear tires on it.
