tranny damage on 2 day old rebel

They approved mine and have set arbitration for November. I hope we can settle before then but we will see.

Great news! Check up on your state lemon laws to make sure you don't get a penny less then you are entitled to.

Woah, that quick!? Nice. That gives me hope if my progress stalls with FCA. Good luck! Hope you get what you want.

I thought the same thing, said it could take up to 2 business days but received it late yesterday evening so I was pleasantly surprised.

The good thing about Lemon Law (at least in Georgia where I just finished mine on a 2019 Silverado) you don't have to pay for the attorney, the manufacturer foots that bill.

Still waiting on them to finish installing the new engine. As for the claim we have until the 28th to submit all supporting documents and hearing is scheduled for November 8th. It's getting very old this Thursday will be 10 weeks in the shop.

DO NOT SETTLE. Go. it'll cost them several thousand dollars and it's non binding so you can simply waste their time and money. They will call you the day of arbitration to try and settle. FWIW I wouldn't take any settlement at all. Wait until you have the actual State arbitration give them a court order you can enforce against them.

Rent a nice comparable vehicle and enjoy yourself, you can bill them for it.

Here is where I stand on my tranny. I got a new one from Chrysler installed. They offered to pay first month payment of loan. I said no. Then they offered 10 year 100k max warranty. I said not sure that’s best option for me. They came back with giving me a CDI number and almost $6k trade assist to get rid of the current truck. Except the trade in value dealers are giving me is like $40k! I can’t get a new truck for that trade in plus the credit. It’s so frustrating!
Any advice on getting higher trade $ or should I just take the warranty?

If your confidence and faith in the truck, dealer network, and FCA as a whole are fractured, simply look up your New York State Lemon Law and follow the lemon law procedure. Get rid of the truck go buy a Chevy, Nissan, Toyota or Ford and be done with it. You have up to two years or 18000 miles from the original delivery date. If you just bought the truck you have plenty of time to accumulate other issues and problems. If the truck is in the shop for a cumulative minimum of 30 days, you qualify.

What do you want? What would make this right with you? I don't know what's been said between you and this dealership, but you might try telling them how this will play out instead of letting them tell you. And if they won't play ball then go the lemon law route. Stay calm with them, and don't make it sound like an idle threat. Make sure they understand you will follow through with a particular course of action.

In NY you must have 30 days in shop for same issue. I would need another tranny issue in 2 years 19k miles.

It's 30 cumulative days total. Not for the same issue. The same issue is 4 or more attempts to repair regardless of time 3 attempts, plus final attempt under duty to repair ). If you have no faith in the truck you can find enough issues to rack up a few more days if you try hard enough...

I'm not your friend and this is what forums are for we can talk to each other about a similar issue we are experiencing.

OP or not, I hope you guys get the outcome you’re looking for.

For OP, sounds the warranty is the best bet if you still like the truck otherwise. I did not receive an offer from FCA when working with a case specialist - so be thankful of that! At least you’re receiving communication and a seemingly fair offer given what I’ve read so far.

Yes warranty may be best. When they ordered my truck they accidentally ordered 2 identical ones. They did offer a swap for that but it is not the next tranny after mine lol. If it’s a bad batch I’m screwed. My tranny is new and if I have any other issues I’ll be days away from a real lemon qualification. Whole thing is a nightmare and I’ll forever have a bad taste in my mouth about this but we will see what the future holds.

My thought is will a rebuilt tranny really be as good as a new one with no issues from the beginning? Warranty is only 3 years. I plan on keeping it much longer.

I will absolutely wait for another build. Is this option a possibility that ram will do without a huge fight?
You would be crazy to not expect a huge fight out of FCA if you were expecting to get a brand new truck out of the deal. I don't think they would go for that. But that's my thoughts.
