Top Glove Box Light Stays On

Thanks. Knew what a TSB was but had never heard of Star. Must be FCA specific I presume?

Yes, that is correct.

Best regards,
Dusty

My 1.5 week old Laramie is doing the exact same thing. Anyone had theirs repaired yet or have a solution?

I have the same issue. In addition, my bottom glove box does the same thing. That puts a yellow light coming out of the side on my passenger door. Here’s a pic of both....

I took mine into the dealer yesterday and they ordered a new glove box and the ambient light control switch that didn’t do anything.

Hi HarleyDavidson,
We're very sorry that this was not resolved the first time around. Send us a private message if you would like some extra assistance with finding a solution.

It is, that's the ambient light and shines down from the lip of the dash on the top of the door. The problem is the light shining through the bottom of the door.

If it looks like this, it's fine.

Very nice lighting. I wish the Rebel would have had the ambient lighting - I wasn't aware it didn't, as I would have likely purchased the sport which I believe has all the amenities.

I have a list of things I need the dealer to fix on mine. Missing a plastic bed plug, stained rear plastic panel, splash guard hanging off the truck, etc.took delivery in the rain and could see most of that stuff. now the glove box. Oh and today the horn started honking when I tilt the wheel. I may wait a little just to see if anything else pops up.....

I noticed this wonder of lighting as well the first week after purchase. Took it in, they created the STAR report and order something. I'm working with them now to get me scheduled with they body shop guy... I attached the picture I took for them to look at.

Hi

Got a 2019 Limited a week ago. Im having the issue with my glove box light staying on and also the illumination around the auxiliary outlets also stays on. And that's with the vehicle off for 10 minutes and after all other lights have automatically turned off. I advised the dealer and am waiting to hear back.

I bought my 2019 Bighorn in November and I am having the exact glove box light issue. I shut the door and normally the light comes on when I hit some bumps in the road. I'll reach over and push it down, light goes out, then back on when I hit some more bumps. I couldn't replicate the issue in the dealer parking lot but expressed the extreme annoyance, especially at night and that they would have to take it for s ride to see what I mean. I also have a 1/4" gap or so when it's shut, almost like it's cheaply made or put together. I was told that with it being a brand new truck, they haven't heard of this issue and that most likely over time as more customers bring it up, a recall would probably come out. It's good to know that I'm not the only one dealing with this, and don't want to just settle when you pay out over $40K for a vehicle.

My truck is exactly the same. Took it to my dealer last week. They've ordered a new glove box lid. I'll let you know if that fixes the issue

Yea, mine does it too. It does tone down as I dial back on the ambient light rheostat.

I dropped off to the dealership and they replaced the switch. I just picked it up this morning so I will post an update at the end of the day to see if it comes on again.

Tire rotation every 3k to 5k. Wow for some people that's once a month.
