TAZER DT for 2019 RAM 1500

Did you just yank it out, or unmarry it as well?
Just unplugged the two connectors from the Tazer and plugged them back into the factory security gateway box under the dash and done! No reason to unmarry it unless you plan to install it into a different truck. Took less than 2 minutes to uninstall and then 2 more to plug it back in when I got home:)

Fair enough... I didn't think it necessarily had to be unmarried, just wanted to hear from someone who had a service visit and how it went. Now I know, much appreciated!

I updated the firmware, took off the CAM With Turn signal, and changed the Splash Screen back to Limited and it appears to work well now. (Other than 2 mysterious re-boots of the Infotainment system)

Hmmm...I uninstalled mine and the cameras work now fine I hope I can reinstall and not add any settings and see if it works

Has anyone been in for service with the DT installed... or is it suggested that it be unmarried for service work?
Just had mine in as well for the same recall software update. Unmarried and removed the Tazer from the truck. No questions asked by the dealer! Installed again, married, then reprogrammed the settings I previously had. I guess when unmarrying it doesn’t remember the previous settings you had when it was previously married. Yesterday, prior to taking the truck in for the recall I installed the new firmware update to 18.0.3 and it’s working fine. Not sure why others are having issues as I have not experienced any of the same problems as I also have the 12”.
One thing I have noticed, and maybe it’s just the way it is, but when I call on the camera under controls the camera buttons flicker. Camera still stays displayed but that’s just something I noticed. All in all no issues at the dealer and latest software working fine. Looking forward to more features in the future!

Where is the location that the Tazer plugs in at? Just ordered. Can't wait!!

You have to stick you head way under the dash and you'll see the OBD-II port. Above and to the right up inside the dash is a small black box with two RJ-type CAT5 connectors. You squeeze the tabs and pull them out and plug them into your Tazer. The connectors are different sizes so you can't mess this up!

thank you

On my 5th gen, build date March 2019, it’s to the far left, against the left wall, as your looking at the steering wheel.

Has anyone been able to change the location of the DRL? I’ve been able to get every other setting to work but the location of the daytime running light won’t seem to change no matter what setting I have it on.

That’s what I said above...it all depends on how you’re looking up at it. If you are on your back and sticking your head up looking at the box then it is on your right side of the steering column.

Yep, I'm running the turns as my DRL's. You select the location or "off" and then it takes a few restarts to change. Once the location changes, even pulling the Tazer out will not change them back. Really nice feature.

Just curious-has anybody actually been in touch with the chap at ZAutomotive in the last 2-3 weeks?
I sent him an email through his contact utility on the website, looking for a bit of additional information on the Tazer, that was at least two weeks ago, so when I didn't hear back after a week, I sent a follow up email.
So far the silence has been deafening1

He replies to text more frequently. He answered my email 3 weeks after I sent it.

I sent a message on FB and it took a day or so for a reply. I just asked him any word on MDS disable. The response was "It's something that we're looking to figure out, but it's a bit of a process and low on our priority list at the moment". I own it but just a glorified speedo calibrator because I don't see any value in the other features.
