Stop and go shudder/vibration

Anychance your truck has eTorque? My new 2019 RAM has the option where my engine stops when the break is applied for X amount of time (Stop lights..etc). I feel the same thing you do when that is enabled. However, I turn it off most of the time to avoid that stutter.
No my doesn't have the etorque, i really think its the drive shafts. It seems to clear up at least momentarily when other members have gotten those replaced.

Mine has this bump when releasing the brake / when accelerating too. My dealer replaced the drive shaft, after the technician there spoke with STAR and they both agreed the drive shaft sounded like it was binding.

Well, 400 miles after the replacement, it was back to doing it. It stopped entirely during those 400 miles, but is now back to exactly how it was before with the old shaft.
How many miles on yours before it first started doing it. Mine was around 10k. 400 miles seems wat too soon, wonder if something else is in play here as well.

Mine started around 5,500 miles. Replaced around 8,500, and back to it before 9,000. I'm at 12,000 now.

I also have this bump problem at 2000 miles on my 2019 rebel. Hopefully someone figures out the fix as this is something I have never experienced in any of my past vehicles. Disappointing that a $60000 truck has this known problem that they can’t or don’t care to fix!

I have 12500 miles and probably started around 10k or 11k, non etorque. Happens probably 75% of the time. Its when im stopped and first release brake pedal it studders, almost like its releasing built up tension or something. Not sure if something needs retorqued or if its the transmission needs the updates.
That's a good description for what mine does, albeit not 75% of the time. I notice it more with passengers, but figure that's simply because it annoys me most then.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this, Gusman4. We recommend having this diagnosed by your local Ram dealer if you have not done so already. We would be more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of assistance during that process. We’re just a PM away.

I have about 8k on my 2019. HAve had the trans bump almost since new. I have had it back 3 times. Had the service manager drive it. Of course it behaved.
Its downright annoying at this point. As was posted elsewhere and by my experience, it seems like the lock up converter sporadically stays loaded at a stop and when you release the brake, its releases. Doesnt happen all of the time but happens a lot. I also get a light shudder from the drivetrain when coming of idle. My 2013 didnt do any of this nonsense. Its bad programming and they wont fix it.

Just a update on mine. I brought the truck in for a oil change and had them address the issue with the tranny/driveline. They did a total of three updates and they said one was specifically for the drivability issue with transmission. We will see as always it wasn’t doing it when I brought it in so I really can’t tell. I will update once I get some more miles on it.

update. Took truck in a on Wednesday and immediately asked for a ride along so I would avoid the "couldn't replicate". Tech felt the shudder. They gave me a loaner car and they called today saying the are needing to replace the rear driveshaft. Have to order parts, so I will get my truck back until parts come in and then take back for them to replace, hopefully this solves it. The adviser couldn't tell me much about why or what was wrong so will ask in the morning when i pick up.

I hope that solves it. My driveshaft got replaced as well, and the bump came back in less than 500 miles. Actually taking it back in this coming Monday now that work has slowed down enough.

Thanks Mark. My dealer is pretty good, and are just as wanting this resolved as I am. If they run into any trouble, I'll be sure to reach out to you for some extra help.

This is an issue that they have not resolved. I have been back to the dealer 5 times now. I have contacted an abitrator. I have rented 4-5 Rams 2 of them were ok. The others have the same stop bump driveline shudder. Good luck

Okay going to try to explain this best I can. So I have noticed ther last few weeks that when J come to a stop and when I accelerate from a stop that I feel what i can only explain as a stuttering type of vibration. It feels kind of like when towing and that slack feeling you get when coming to a stop or initial acceleration. I am going in for the recall next week and would love to know how or where to point to with this. Brakes, mounts, driveline? Thanks

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi (no eTorque) 4x4 w/ anti-spin diff: The truck drove super smooth out the dealer's lot, but after about 1500 miles, the shudders started. I have the same problem you described with shudders on stop and go. It's worse when towing my 4000 lb trailer. At first, I was hoping it would smooth out after more miles, but it's only gotten worse. I took this to dealer and they did some updates but not much luck. after around 8000~9000 miles on the odometer, the truck would thrust forward before complete stop. Took my truck there again recently and was kept there for over a week; corporate said couldn't figure out what's wrong. Finally, they added anti-slip fluid to the differential but the problem is still there. On some stops, before complete stop, the truck would thrust so much forward creating last minute panic and slamming hard on my brake to avoid any kind of accident. Got my wife and a 4 yr old riding with me, so it is becoming very concerning for the safety of my family.

I wonder if indeed it is normal and everyone has is :(

but if it is, it still sucks to have it.

The dealer told me similar stories about the transmission and the computer doing its own thing; that it's a smart computer and it was learning. If anything, it should improve the drive and not to create "shudders" on stop and go. For my 2019 Ram 1500, the shudder started after 1500 miles. Very discouraging as I have never spent this much on any vehicle in my life. Not listening to my friends, and trying to support American made has created so much disappointment and frustration thus far not to mention the time I was left without a truck.

Dear Ram Cares,
Could you please have someone reach out to me. I'm on my way to pick-up my truck from the dealer right for the same concern, but over the phone, they had instructed me to escalate this to Customer Service. Thanks!
