Stellantis recalls 1.5M Ram trucks to fix software bug that can disable stability control

I just looked up my VIN and I'm apart of the recall. My truck is already at the dealer for something unrelated, and they told me today (9/23/24) that they didn't have the fix for the recall yet. They said I'll get a letter at some point and to bring it back then.

I swung by my dealer yesterday and got the update done. IDK if it was a coincidence or the issue… a month ago I panic stopped approaching an intersection and my tires slid instead of pulsed. Idk if maybe the road conditions and computer dictated the brake behavior or if it was related to the recall. Maybe that’s just how the ABS works.

I received a notice that the recall exists, but at this time there is no fix and I would receive additional communication once a solution is found. I guess it could be because they aren’t ready to service the 2022 yet?

Same

My 2023 with 9000 miles on it is one of the ones that failed. It been at the dealer for 7 1/2 weeks waiting on new module. I would recommend getting recall done as my truck wouldn't start on day one started on day two that I was planning on towing it but wouldn't shift to drive. It's been a very bad experience so far and timing couldn't have been worse.

Can you elaborate on "failed"? Symptoms/messages? Not starting, not shifting, seems odd these would be related to the ABS software recall...

First sign of a problem truck wouldn't start checked battery (AAA checked it) planned for tow to dealer next day. For kicks I tried to start and it did but wouldn't shift into drive. Every warning imaginable about brakes showed on dash. Tow truck guy said emergency brakes were locked on even after he pulled secret release cord. Dragged truck onto flatbed then bounced it off at dealer. Dealer said antilock brake module needs replaced waiting for going on 8 weeks for it.

I'm a little surprised that there's not more news on this one. My problem was on labor day weekend and I read a little press release a week later about a recall. Seems to me if your emergency brake were to lock up at highway speed and you didn't lose control someone would likely run into you.
I'm not sure what's wrong with module but it seems like more than a software update. I was told I'm getting a redesigned part thus the long delay.

That's not related to this recall.

You have a different problem than this recall addresses.

Nov 3rd 2024 and still no fix

sad
It's obviously not a major issue on the older model years. And considering they skip 2020 all together......

And you have never answered if you are experiencing this issue that you are complaining about no "fix".
