Stellantis recalls 1.5M Ram trucks to fix software bug that can disable stability control

Update on my 2023 Ram1500. In the beginning of the month the dealership replaced the generator and then it still did not charge. Then they said it is the module in the battery pack. So they had to order the part through some STAR system as the battery pack is a restricted part. Meaning the dealership parts department could not order it. That was 2 weeks ago. Finally had the service manager contact me today to tell me the STAR system personnel finally shipped it today. ETA of another 3 weeks. Needless to say this has been less than desirable experience with my first Dodge truck. Not a good sign after 39k miles.

75B is open to all years, now everyone can get the ABS recall done. @bigdodge
I just got it done this morning. Took a little over an hour, the service department was busy. It turned off my auto parking brake, reset my horn alerts when locking and auto starting. I wish I would have known, annoyed a bunch of people in the Costco parking lot. Took me a few seconds to realize what happened after not changing the settings for over 5 years. LOL

Auto parking brake is new to me with this truck. I rarely used the parking brake unless it was a manual. I found it in my 2021 Ram and set it to automatically come on when I shift to park. I think it's a pretty good feature.

And it should be your last, as this is a RAM truck.

I had an update done for service 4wd light, that didn't help, but it reset all my alfaObd changes and reverted all my changes from settings menu to factory. What pissed me off the most is now my parking sensors don't work when I change my tire size for the ,35s. They worked fine before.

I only put about 5 miles on the truck since I got the update done. Going to be riding around this morning and I'll see what else it may have reset.

This is what I'm afraid of, loosing all my alfaOBD changes. It's been so long since I've done them I don't remember what's been changed, lol.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 that has been screwed up since it was new. Erratic behavior like lurching forward while coming to a stop, irregular and sudden acceleration, 4 wheel drive overheating, messages after only seconds of tire spin, 4 wheel drive not working at all and getting stuck in sand and snow because the front wheels wouldn't drive, the rear axle lock engaging by itself... I took it in for the recall repair yesterday and it now seems normal. BUT i've been driving this for over 6 years like this!! I think RAM owes me a super sweet deal on a new truck. SIX YEARS of a screwed up truck. You might tell I'm a little steamed. I was in AZ a couple weeks ago and got stuck in sand with the front wheels sitting right on top of the sand while the rear ones buried themselves. Front ones didn't drive. Lucky for me i had a shovel and action trax. I was in a remote place with no chance of gettin help . Anyone else?

Really, make a backup file from your current BCM, have them do the recall and reload your backup file. Back to square one.

I assume you are still waiting on a new battery pack (the lithium one I assume)? I just created a new post/thread of the battery (the regular one) going dead this morning with only 10 months and 7100 miles. I got this software update back on November 7th so I’ll assume it’s not the culprit. Please keep us updated.

So far so good. Like I said earlier, I got the recall update done on Friday. I drove around 20 miles since Saturday, local driving, lots of in and out of the truck. I haven't noticed any thing different at all. I never had anything happen besides lights coming on and some dinging and a service ABS, Service Airbag warning come on. That happened a few times, randomly about 2 months ago. The first time it happens I was concerned but the lights turned off and the truck was normal afterward.

Again, I haven't noticed anything off or weird, I go back to work tomorrow and I will see if anything happens on the ride to and from. I'm not expecting anything to go wrong though.

Just had the recall done on my 2021 Ram Rebel. The truck is still showing ABS, 4WD, traction control, crash warning lights as all inactive. Dealership says it's the front wheel speed sensor. They ordered the part. I guess we'll see if that fixes the dash that's lighting up like a Christmas tree right now with warning lights :)
