Stellantis recalls 1.5M Ram trucks to fix software bug that can disable stability control

I only put about 5 miles on the truck since I got the update done. Going to be riding around this morning and I'll see what else it may have reset.

I had an update done for service 4wd light, that didn't help, but it reset all my alfaObd changes and reverted all my changes from settings menu to factory. What pissed me off the most is now my parking sensors don't work when I change my tire size for the ,35s. They worked fine before.
This is what I'm afraid of, loosing all my alfaOBD changes. It's been so long since I've done them I don't remember what's been changed, lol.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 that has been screwed up since it was new. Erratic behavior like lurching forward while coming to a stop, irregular and sudden acceleration, 4 wheel drive overheating, messages after only seconds of tire spin, 4 wheel drive not working at all and getting stuck in sand and snow because the front wheels wouldn't drive, the rear axle lock engaging by itself... I took it in for the recall repair yesterday and it now seems normal. BUT i've been driving this for over 6 years like this!! I think RAM owes me a super sweet deal on a new truck. SIX YEARS of a screwed up truck. You might tell I'm a little steamed. I was in AZ a couple weeks ago and got stuck in sand with the front wheels sitting right on top of the sand while the rear ones buried themselves. Front ones didn't drive. Lucky for me i had a shovel and action trax. I was in a remote place with no chance of gettin help . Anyone else?

Really, make a backup file from your current BCM, have them do the recall and reload your backup file. Back to square one.

Update on my 2023 Ram1500. In the beginning of the month the dealership replaced the generator and then it still did not charge. Then they said it is the module in the battery pack. So they had to order the part through some STAR system as the battery pack is a restricted part. Meaning the dealership parts department could not order it. That was 2 weeks ago. Finally had the service manager contact me today to tell me the STAR system personnel finally shipped it today. ETA of another 3 weeks. Needless to say this has been less than desirable experience with my first Dodge truck. Not a good sign after 39k miles.
I assume you are still waiting on a new battery pack (the lithium one I assume)? I just created a new post/thread of the battery (the regular one) going dead this morning with only 10 months and 7100 miles. I got this software update back on November 7th so I’ll assume it’s not the culprit. Please keep us updated.

So far so good. Like I said earlier, I got the recall update done on Friday. I drove around 20 miles since Saturday, local driving, lots of in and out of the truck. I haven't noticed any thing different at all. I never had anything happen besides lights coming on and some dinging and a service ABS, Service Airbag warning come on. That happened a few times, randomly about 2 months ago. The first time it happens I was concerned but the lights turned off and the truck was normal afterward.

Again, I haven't noticed anything off or weird, I go back to work tomorrow and I will see if anything happens on the ride to and from. I'm not expecting anything to go wrong though.

Just had the recall done on my 2021 Ram Rebel. The truck is still showing ABS, 4WD, traction control, crash warning lights as all inactive. Dealership says it's the front wheel speed sensor. They ordered the part. I guess we'll see if that fixes the dash that's lighting up like a Christmas tree right now with warning lights :)

Read through all 6 pages,

Has anyone had any issues with this update now that it has been out for a while?

Wondering the same thing. About to head to the dealer Jan 20th for my 2021 . Does anyone know if this will erase the Mopar tire calibration when they flash the abs update?

So I just picked up my 23 from the dealer after having the 75B ABS module recall and the A1B turn signal lever latch recall completed. Truck is now showing Airbag system and SOS call system unavailable and telling me to see a dealer. Called and left a message with the service advisor to document and will cross my fingers it resolves itself after a few ignition cycles....

Did it show up after you left the dealer or once you started driving?

Update - took the truck back to the dealer today - turns out when they replaced the clock spring for the recall with the new part they were amazed they could get same day they tech accidental pinched/broke some of the wires. They have the part ordered again but now it is est 8 days out and they want to keep my truck since they started taking it apart already. They are putting me in a loaner no charge but in the meantime the Sales Manager gave me a 2025 Laramie to drive and he might just let me keep that for the 8 days so not all bad.

haven't got mine done and probably will not be a priority for me for a long time since my truck has yet to see dealership since MD shipped it to me in nov 2022 lol
while leaving Dalton Highway last year going through the twisties in the wet the traction kicked in while i was going fast. i guess the high low gap on the mountain road caused the truck to lift one tire in the air and triggered traction control and sent going for the ditch briefly. was able to recover before actually ending up in the ditch. i had everything under full control but apparently the computer didn't think so.

needless to say after that incident i turned off traction control until I got to Fairbanks.

Dealer asked me to return the 24 ram 1500 they let me drive for a day and set me up with a Jeep Gladiator as a loaner. While the gladiator is kinda fun it would be much more fun in summer as the removable top doesn't really work in MN winter! The gladiator certainly makes me miss my Ram though as it is much louder, smaller, unrefined etc.

well it's on offroad tires with solid front axle and removable top with less noise absorption materials.
of course it's gonna be louder and unrefined lol

I still have not had mine done. stopped at dealer today to see if they could do it at that time. was told it takes about an hour because one tech needs to drive the vehicle while the other tech works the laptop. so I would need an appointment . also wonder if they have the parts (if needed) on hand. I m not leaving my truck for this.

if they don t have the abs part can they keep the vehicle against my will? they were unclear if they had the part. I made the apt but having second thoughts and reached out to a dealer I have a better connection with maybe.

It’s not a physical part. It’s a software flash to the ABS module. It does not need to be driven at all for the recall flash.

I see that in reading the bulletin but I thought someone here have said their truck had to sit for weeks for an abs part? This is why I don t trust the current dealer on information. Didn t say anything about driving in the bulletin either.
