So how many of you have renewed Uconnect?

Renew or let it lapse

Whoever at SXM set the plan prices especially for the Canadian market must have been doing some serious drugs. They want $33.98/month + taxes ($379 USD for a year) for the convenience & security combo, and only offer it as month to month. If they come to their senses and by that I mean around $10/month tax in for the combo, I may consider reactivating. If not, it will stay lapsed.
Insane is right. $10/mo is the sweet spot

Does anyone here have this app?
Is it dependable and how much is it per month?
I had it for the 1-year trial. It was reliable but took up to 30 seconds from the time you pressed the 'button' on the app for it to bounce off the satellite and make it happen.

I think the listed cost is about $25/month but they offered me $13/month to renew for a year. I said no thank you and cancelled the service.

I listen to my satellite radio all the time when driving for $5/month and I'm not going to pay $13/month for something I used twice the first year, and that was just for fun. I think I read of someone getting as low as $10/month but I never pursued it as I knew I wasn't interested in the service.

Apparently there isn't any type of "reconditioning" process for Uconnect when you trade a vehicle, which is kind of a security concern. When I traded my 2017 Grand Cherokee for my 2019 RAM, I had just renewed my Uconnect subscription - It was still registered and I had access to all the remote control options (start, unlock, lock, etc) until it expired 9 months later. Could open the app any time and see where the new owner was and everything. Couldn't find any option in the app to remove it from my account either.
You can restore the factory settings but it doesn't do anything to the account. It's still yours unless you call and cancel it.

I'm pretty sure the dealership doesn't reset the uConnect when they take a vehicle on trade either.

I always recommend, before trading in or selling any vehicle, default all of the electronics back to factory default and DON'T forget to wipe out the garage door transmitters in your HOMELINK!!! Most folks totally forget about doing this. All you have to do is hold down buttons 1 & 3 for like 30 seconds until the lights blink fast and that will erase your transmitters from the unit.

I don't want SXM or Guardian Services. They do not provide enough Services
for the Price. CURRENT Updated NAV Maps, not 2 year old Ones, and being able
to connect to your Home WiFi for Updates should be included.

I let my free trial end and had/have no intention of renewing. Like most people here I just don't listen to the satellite radio enough for it to be worth it when I already pay for Spotify Premium. So really all that I'd want it for is the remote lock/unlock feature, but even that was so hit or miss that it seems like such a rip off to pay for a service that barely works (and in my case living somewhat remotely, almost NEVER worked).

That said, ever since my trial ended seems everything takes a second longer to load on screen and when I listen to Spotify via bluetooth, the radio controls don't work on my steering wheel. Thought they might've broken somehow but nope, they work perfectly fine with AM/FM. Anyone else experience this after not renewing? It just seems really fishy that things go wonky as soon as a paid (lack of) service expires.

I haven’t seen a lag I use Amazon prime music through car play and it’s perfect

I just canceled mine. Mostly because I almost never drive and when I do I stream Amazon. I used to sit in traffic for two hours everyday. If I go back to that I will sign up again.

I pay the $72/yr as others do for Sirius XM Select ($60 + taxes/fees). To me that's a good deal to listen to a laundry list of channels at my fingertips on my touch screen.

The extra stuff you get with the All-Access package isn't worth the additional ~$40 for me. Sure $40 isn't a lot on it's own but I'm not paying 2/3 more in cost for 1-2 channels I might listen to.

I don't have any other paid streaming services. Even if I did my cell signal runs out well before my satellite signal when I'm off-roading. ;)

Two separate topics here, Music and Remote Services.

I've had SirisXM for more years than I can remember and I always negotiate every year. With my 2020 and the 360L radio I will need a deal on the All-Access package as I make heavy use of the personal Radio Stations. I realize I can get them through my phone with Pandora but the truck's 4G has better coverage than my cell phone plus I like the convenience of the interface. I will renew even if I cant get a deal but that is unlikely as there is always a deal when you say you want to cancel.

The Uconnect or Sirius Guardian is more overpriced than the radio but I do occasionally use some of the features so I will probably renew that as well. In the 6 years I've had Uconnect I only got a deal with them once, hopefully in Aug when it's time to renew they'll be offering something.

Sirius has had the same "offer" for new users and it's not hard to get that deal each year. The customer service person on the phone will push back 2-3 times until you wear them down and get the new user offer.

As for Guardian the "MSRP" is $25/month IIRC. Sirius offered me $13/month when I said no and then I countered with canceling it. I have read of someone getting it for $10/month so that's something to shoot for when you renew.

Tried to get Guardian going in my new Limited, no luck so far after over an hour and a half and three calls yesterday, first my email didn't match their records so I don't really own the truck, then I had to call UConnect to get them to remove my trade in 2016 RAM from the phone app, then back to SXMG to try to get my new truck added to the app: still shows no subscription on Mopar or the app. to add insult to injury I get an email confirming my cancelation of the free Guardian Trial sent to the email address they don't have in their system and that I didn't cancel?.
As other pointed out we paid for the "free" year already so I will make them fix it out of principal but if they can't make the current system run correctly in UC4 what do you think the new UC5 is going to be like "better?" I doubt it seriously.

Is your Assist button on the mirror active? If it is I would call them and try to register through them, which I believe is their preferred way to register the vehicle. That's what I did.

Just kind of a tangentially related comment.

I've had a Dish DVR for 25 years and I'm accustomed to not seeing any commercials, so much so that if a show doesn't offer the Hopper commercial skip, I record it and start watching it after it's been recording for a half hour so I can skip the commercials.

I've become very intolerant of commercials and hate broadcast radio for the same reason, listening to it is no longer enjoyable to me.

I live in rural NH and cell coverage is spotty at best though the 360L radio in the truck has more range than my phone does. For that reason, even though I listen to Amazon Music and have created some personal radio stations on my Sirius radio, my go-to source for music is still satellite SiriusXM.

So, whether I listen to radio in my truck for 15 minutes a month or an hour a day, I will continue pay for Sirius just to have commercial free radio.

Just sayin. ;)

That's where I was calling from first few times, looks like the last rep deleted all my information from the system trying to get it to show on the App, (lady last night said it was showing as rental lol) never did show active on the Mopar site even though I am shown as the owner.
Getting ready to call them back in a few and see what they have to say, will put it on the dealer to fix when I take it in for the new dash if not working by then

I cant imagine the dealer being able to do anything as the configuration is all on the SXM side. Unfortunately it sounds like you have to keep calling until you get a competent agent. Deleting everything may have been the right way to go but they apparently weren't experienced enough to make that work.

I believe the dealer does have to set some stuff up for Guardian to work. I bought my truck last May from an out-of-state dealer, and the only "issue" I had was that the Guardian/UConnect app on the phone did not work. I did not bother to take it in, since I did not have much use for the app features, especially since I do not plan to pay to renew it. When I had tried calling Guardian (via the headliner button), they told me the dealer would have to fix the issue.

However, when we took the truck in to our local dealer for an oil change, the UConnect app magically started working after we got the truck back. We did not ask for anything other than the scheduled service, but guessing the dealer updated some software or noticed something wasn't configured for us.

My free subscription expired in February and I'd like to get it again if the price was lower and starting via app worked properly.

This past winter my truck was parked outside for 6 weeks and I wanted to start it after two weeks, then again after four, but it didn't start.
My battery is now weaker, it sounds sluggish when I use the fob to start it.

I hope that many are not renewing and that gives FCA an idea that some aren't happy and that they should do something about that.

Lower the prices and make the app work properly and I'd get the service again.
