Thanks @ RamCares! I was able to get a tech to come out and ride along and listen when I picked it up. I was able to duplicate the problem and the tech thought the issue is with the differential. From the looks of the print out it looks like they checked out the front end only. I have another appointment scheduled for next Tuesday. If they can't find anything I will surely contact you.

Same issue here. I only notice this when turning right after a stop. Like when I'm trying to cross an intersection or making a turn in the neighborhood. While moving at approximately 5 mph and about 45 degrees into the turn, my steering wheel vibrates for a second or two. It's as if there was a phone strapped to the steering wheel and the phone is set on vibrate. I thought some plastic trim or wheel guard had dislodged and began rubbing the front wheel. Looked underneath and nothing has become dislodged. Just made an appointment. This began at approximately 19,000 miles.

Here is my update: The dealer had two techs take it out yesterday and drive it and easily replicate the issue. They did check to see if anything was loose in the rear suspension/driveshaft and didn't find anything wrong there. They did end up draining the differential fluid and did find it to be darker than they would expect. I do remember the first time I pulled our 4500lb camper with the truck last September that I thought the rear end smelled. I chalked it up to rust inhibitors burning off at the time since the truck was about a week old to me. Now thinking about it I wonder if it broke down the fluid or if the fluid was bad from the factory. The dealer changed the fluid and did 8 figure 8's which apparently is the procedure to break-in the fluid. They let it cool down and took it out for another test drive and could not replicate the issue. The initial thought from the dealer is there might be have been an issue with either not enough or something wrong with the friction reducing additive in the fluid. I drove the truck home last night and this morning to work and it felt like new again. I'm a bit concerned that they didn't pull the differential cover off to inspect the gears or check lash. They said they did not find any debris or metal in the fluid as they checked for it while draining it. I have heard from a coworker with an F150 that Ford had an issue with a batch of differential fluid for the friction reducer and his rear end seemed to sound the same as mine. I'll be pulling my camper for a 400 mile round trip this weekend so that will be the real test as the noise always seemed pretty bad when turning with the camper hooked up.

Any updates, I'm having the same issue now. Some seem to think it's driveshaft related, and I've been having issues with that as well. Almost like tension in the driveline that's released as a slight bump when I let off the brake and start to accelerate. Anyway, looking for updates on the slight vibration/noise when turning at slow speeds.

Dealer said they couldn't replicate the issue. Haven't had the chance to verify this but I think I'm now able to replicate the issue at will. I noticed that this happens when I turn right from a stop, turning out of a parking lot or at a stop sign. My steering wheel needs to rotate clockwise (right turn) and the top of the wheel needs to reach the 7 o'clock to 9 o'clock position. Outside of these locations I don't hear or feel the issue. Just haven't had a chance to bring it back to the dealership. Good luck!

Same thing happening to me. 2019 Big Horn 4X4 with a 2" Tuff Country Level. Had the level installed at approx 20,000 miles, and noticed this around 35,000. Took it to the dealer last who replaced the motor mount, but still have the issue. Was worried it was something from the leveling kit but from what I'm reading it sounds like others are having the same issue with a stock truck. Currently at 42,000 miles with the original struts and Nexen tires 275/55R20.

Have you noticed this vibration anymore after the diff fluid was changed? Taking mine back in Monday and want to see if everything on yours is still fixed.

Thanks!

I finally found this! Mine does this only when turning right at low speeds...a grinding vibration in the steering wheel. It does it almost every day. I've taken it two the dealership twice for this and they gave me the "can not replicate" I gave been trying to figure out what this is for almost a year now. Anyone ever figure out what's causing it?

If it’s the same issue I had it is the rack & pinion. Mine made a grinding sound when only turning right at low speed. Dealer replaced the R&P and have not had the sound since.

Hi, the grinding noise you hear was
Close to the steering wheel? I have a grinding noise when turning to the right. And occasionally a slight vibration when turning. And the worst a rattle noise coming behind or under the steering wheel.

I don’t remember any vibration or rattle in the wheel itself. My noise sounded more like it came from the steering column. Sounded kinda like when anti lock brakes kick in.

I don't have a rattle just a grinding and vibration. Sounds like the abs but coming from the steering column. Someone else posted the same thing...said he had the rack and pinion replaced. I'm just trying to get it to make the sound for the dealership to get mine replaced

I have a 2019 Laramie Sport with the 22’ rims. It only has 6,000 miles on it. I have noticed the vibration and noise for a few months now, but it has been very intermittent and I didn’t think I would be able to duplicate it for the dealer. This weekend I was driving around with my wife and it did it 3 times in a row. After the 3rd time she said “are we just going to pretend it doesn’t keep doing that?”.

Pretty sure it’s at a point I can duplicate for the dealer at will now. Dreading taking it to them since I had a horrible buying experience from them, but I’ll let everyone know how it goes. Fingers crossed their service department is better. Let’s hope this isn’t a sign for future things to come at only 6,000 miles.

I apologize for the trouble, @Staywhatyouare2. However, please know that I would be more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf for further support as you address this with your dealer. This will provide the dealership and yourself with an individual who will review your concern, then assist you and the dealership in exhausting all available resources to have the concern addressed and resolved. Our team is just a private message away to get the process started.

I'll have to follow this one; I have a similar problem. I have what feels like a grinding/vibration when first driving my truck. It does it when I back out of my driveway in the morning and when I leave work at the end of the day. It doesn't do it going straight; only when turning. I thought it was a brake at first, but I don't think so because it only occurs when turning the wheel. In addition, I already had all the brake TSBs done. I just keep waiting for it to get worse so that I can duplicate it with my Service Department. To me it feels like the driveshaft binding or the rear end grinding. 19,000 miles.
