SHOCKING: Meet The All-New Ram 1500 REV Battery-Electric Pickup!

I think you are overthinking about this WAY too much. Nobody is taking anything away from you, not now and not in 7 years. I can 100% GARANTEE you that in 7 years, you will still buy a gas powered car....new or used.

Haha...well I guess I have that going for me...your personal guarantee. :D Are you predicting that the law will not be enforced?

In what way is being aware of the changes that are happening in my state overthinking?

Well, there's still many years for that law to be overturned, once they realize the infrastructure isn't there to support their wild hair. Cali can barely keep the lights on without EVs.
That's my hope as well. But the people running this state seem to forget about what goes on in the rest of the state.

PG&E needs a serious overhaul, or new leadership, or something. They haven't kept up the infrastructure, let alone try to improve anything

Thankfully we haven't had the same issues here that they're having in CA. We still rely heavily on hydro-electric generation here. And we haven't seen issues with demand for the most part. My concerns about the power grid are more for people living in areas that are already seeing problems as it is now.

Well you have 7 years to figure out what you want to do. No need to go to full panic mode...lol

7 years will go by before you know it. lol

And wait until fuel prices start going up because demand is dropping, but they still want to maintain profits
They were maintaining profits when gas was under $2. Of course, we didn't have the 40 year high inflation.

Curious to know if interested in getting one, what is your price range? For me...my price range for an entry ev would be $50-65k for the ev ram. I'm more than happy to sit in my current ram longer...but if they want me to buy one, it has to be cheaper than everybody else.

Seven years down the road I don't plan to be in this state anymore. But I have lots of family who will still be here. My concern is more for their sake.

And people were buying a lot more of it when it was under $2
They still are, at least around here. We dont really have a choice. I dont see that changing in 7 years either.

Here is my prediction on the mandate, atleast for CA
It will be challenge - proof is that work has already started by the circulation of pay adds against it on TV -
Enforcing the mandate will be delay an extra amount of years but in the mean time the state will collect an additional tax/penalty on any new ice vehicle every year when registration renewal is due
And yes we have idiots running the state -

A tradesman 4x2 quad starts at $37,400 - An EV version should start at $45 k and state or federal should cover every single buyer a 1 time credit of $7500 at point of sale because of the mandate - regardless of income or value of vehicle or brand - every body wins
For me I am max out at $60k all in (taxes, doc fee, etc)

You will also need the charging equipment, and an electrician to setup the station at your house. They would have to increase the credit to a bit more.

Haha...we think alike.

I want to order a lower trim and throw some addins, just like I did with my backcountry. But stellantis might not let me do it.

For example when I placed my order in 2021 for my backcountry, I wanted a lower trim, but with goodies like the pano sunroof, 12" screen, and rambox, but since then they took some options off for that trim...like the rambox. If there is one thing I want, is the rambox in a lower trim. I maxed out my number at $61k and I don't want to go any higher in this ev. If I can't, I'm perfectly fine in waiting and getting a midsized ev.

I don't think there is much hope there, bankruptcy, lawsuits, settlement, etc

And I'm sure when gas vehicles came out in the 1900's folks with horses had very similar questions...about lack of gas stations (back then...there was no infrastructure) , transporting gas safely, and range of the model t...with dirt hyways and places to stop.

Only thing I can say is that it's not for everybody just yet and over time it will get better. You are only looking at what is available right now.

It seems like just yesterday the tesla came out with the model S (in 2015) very little infrastructure was available here in the north east. Today, fast chargers are all over the north east. Tomorrow, not only are more charger are popping up in areas that don't have them, and now battery range is increasing.

Over time, it will get better. Remember the ford pinto and exploring gas tanks? They didn't give up on gas cars, they just redesigned it to make it better and safer.

It goes even farther back. There was even an EV in the early(ish) 1800s.

Edit: WTF happened to iOS talk to text. It sucks now.

greedy lol, just gave you $7500 and remove any bs restrictions, but fine $12k total and we are not gonna check on anything - so feel free to do it yourself, pay a friend, buy amazon, Chinese, etc
