Are those the standard powersteps? or the XL? Your truck appears lifted and they hang pretty low. I'd be worried about how low those sit if they are the standard steps on a stock height truck.

Not lifted and standard steps. I will be doing a 3.5” lift soon. Went ahead and ordered them because I was quoted a 2 month wait for them.

Purchased these on ebay, stainless steel, $160.00, ordered on 2/19 received this morning (2/21) via FedEx. Brackets are 2 parts, connect with 3 bolts and have a rough textured painted finish (no picture on ebay). Got tired of trying to purchase the Mopar black tubular and figuring my other options. They measure 5" not 5 1/2". Thickness is a little over 1 5/8" on the SS portion. Angled on ends as per ebay picture. Thinking of using some 3M electrical tape along edge to cut some of the SS look. Will post pics with and when installed. May try to "rhino/line x" brackets before install.

There are 2 ratings on ebay.

At age 63 they go along with my chrome bumpers and bench seat, I think. Analog guy in a digital world. :)

Update 2/22: Temporarily attached for 5th gen forum for those who might be interested. I'm sure the bolts to attach the 2 part bracket would put them out of the running for many as they are visible and oversized. I like the height as it appears to split the difference between the ground and floor of truck and may enable my aging in-laws access. The pictures don't show the angle "bend" on sides well. I feel they look better in person than the pictures. The reflection is good to see if you did a thorough "wash". Final install pictures to follow.

Thanks to ALL posters of running boards.

That is a good price. I am about 25 years younger but also a chrome bumpers and bench seat guy. It is a nice classic look. I am thinking about some step bars that will look good also and leaning towards the Westin Pro Traxx 5. Not sure if the Pro Traxx 4 is better? The 4 seems more popular. Does anyone know of any other step bars similar to the Pro Traxx that are good for comparison?

Man, I like those and was expecting a price of $800 when I clicked the link. Boy, was I surprised.

I wonder if I could take the tread plates off and plasti dip them for a little more traction? I might just try it.

I got sick of waiting for the Tyger ones to come back in stock so I ordered these, they should be here today. I’m curious to see what they look like after having two sets of RB20’s arrive damaged/incorrect I just hope these are ok.
I like your idea of getting them sprayed, I didn’t think of that but that’s a great idea.

Ok so these Rough Country running boards came yesterday and install wasn’t too bad apart from crawling around in my garage on the freezing concrete for hours. Sorry for the crap pics, I’ll get her washed and take some better ones outside. I think they look alright and for $299 can’t complain.

I ordered these folds of honor series from ironcross and they have a cool look and part of the proceeds go to a good cause. IMG_20190228_075825.jpg

Boards that don’t fold up will protect your rear fenders too. There’s a lot of folks with really bad damage on their rear fender flares from rocks and cinders kicking back and chipping the paint on gravel roads and winter treatments. Some guys are posting trucks a few weeks old showing major chipping and damage.

That's exactly why I went with a fixed board vs retracting. I liked the look of the truck when I got it. It had a nice clean look to it. I was planning to get the OEM retractable boards installed to maintain that look.

After driving on the snow and slush the first time, I knew I had to buy mudflaps. I went with WeatherTech because they appeared to be the least obtrusive. I installed them and was happy with how they didn't really take away from that look.

The first time in the snow after installing the flaps I noticed there was still a lot of slush building up on the truck. More than I'd ever had on a vehicle without mudflaps. A few days later I saw the post about the stone chips on the rear fender flares and conceded to installing a set of step boards.

I went with the Louvered Side Steps from DeeZee (my wife works there, so my options were limited ;)). Pretty nice boards with really heavy mounting brackets (the bracket kit also came with a thread die to clean the paint off the studs). I installed them yesterday and I'm pretty happy with the look. I also the wife can get in the truck a lot easier (okay, so can I). I may have them coated with spray bedliner material (they are textured powder coat), but I'm a little concerned with how easily they'll clean up if I do.

All in all, It's not what I planned, but I do like the result. A bedrug and Lomax cover and I'll be good for a while...... maybe .

I think I’ve narrowed it down to GoRhino Dominator D6 and RB20... opinions?

I have the dominators and love them - don't get them!

(I want to be unique...)

but it's personal preference, both look good, my motivation was the D6 tucks really tight to the body; I wanted to retain all available ground clearance but still have a ledge.

Do you happen to have a a picture? Would love to see them on a Ram.

Awesome, thank you. Did you install them yourself? Also where do you buy them? Price?

Indeed - installed them myself with a pair of rhino ramps under one side at a time (crawl up in 4Lo, otherwise ramps will skitter away).

Installation tip (for any set of boards) - a thread chaser/cutter would make life much easier to clean the studs (as they have stray paint layered on them from manufacturing). That said, just put the bolt on/off a few threads at a time to clean the threads and it worked fine.

Bought at CarID for ~350 (when a rebate was available)
