Got the air kit. Now I’ve got to find some time to install it.

I finally got the Timber Grove Automatic Air System installed on the truck today. Pretty straight forward and the install video on their website is really good. Took me a good part of the day just because I have a serious case of OCD. This could probably be done in a few hours.
The air tank/compressor assembly fits perfectly behind the front bumper. Once everything is tightened down, it’s very sturdy. This kit works with my Timber Grove CRM coil replacement air bags. The bags have worked really well so far and I’m glad to finally get this kit installed so I don’t have to manually air them up. I’ve always wanted a lowered truck but didn’t want to loose towing/hauling capabilities. Problem solved.

I ran the power and ground up to the battery and tried to integrate it as much as possible to keep it looking stock. Then removed the active air dam so I could tuck the extra wiring in behind the bumper.

For a clean look and air line protection, I ran the air line inside the frame on the drivers side. There was an unused bolt hole at the bumper so it went in there and came out at the rear right where the leveling valve mounts. The Haldex leveling valves look to be high quality. Running the air line is pretty easy, but it’s hard to make it look really clean because the lines cannot be bent much at all without kinking them.

I ran the compressor air filter to a remote location under the hood to keep it in a dry and fairly clean environment.

The final step is to adjust the leveling valves to keep the truck at the correct ride height. I had to run them up and down a few times each the bleed them. Setting them is a bit tedious, but not too bad. Now the truck will stay level front-to-back and side-to-side automatically when loaded or empty. Yes, the kit is expensive, but it is very high quality and Steve offers incredible customer service.

Well, now my front tires are rubbing on the wheel well liners when driving over dips in the highway. Already worn through in a couple of spots. I’m not sure what can be done.

I did the complete ihc kit and got a feeling I’ve talked to a few of you on fb after reading thru this thread. I would have much rather had the drop spindles upfront with thebbelltec

I’m thinking now I’ll with need a taller bumpstop in the strut or change the clip position on the strut. I’m afraid the tire is going to hit the battery box. It’s already wearing holes in the top of the wheel well liners.

Ohhh the top! Wow that’s bad. Dropping a tire size would be better than limiting up travel

But that’s weird. I’ve never bottomed out the front.

I really don’t want to have to go to a lower profile tire. They run hotter which makes them wear faster and the ride is rougher.

What is your measurement from the ground to the fender edge on the front? Mine sits at about 33 3/8”. I’m keeping the rear at about 34”.

Measured mine and my measurements are basically what yours are.

My fronts 34.5. With stock tires right now. Weird yours is that much lower. I have mine set at the 1.5in clip though

My fronts 34.5. With stock tires right now. Weird yours is that much lower. I have mine set at the 1.5in clip though

I have mine set on the 2” drop position. I might have to raise it up to the 1.5”.

I have 20x12 wheels. Once in a while on realllly big bumps, I think my wheels hit my fenders very slightly. Not enough to cause damage but I have noticed a few rubber marks on my fender edges.

But it’s weird that yours is over .5 in lower than mine.

I have the factory 22” wheels. I was hoping to do a 2/4 drop, but I guess I’ll have to raise it a little.
