Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Hello all, I am in the middle of swapping my 23 gal tank out for the 33 gallon I ran into an issue with the fuel line bundle I need to replace the hose in the first picture with the second picture however the replacement doesn’t have a sensor and solenoid like the original part does. And the original part is not long enough to connect all relevant pieces. Any advice?

Your going to have to modify it.

this is how i did mine . Used some hose and clamps to modify the new and used ones to make it work. It works good and no issues after i modified it.

Where did you cut at to splice in?

I cut the hose off the end of the fitting that has the electric connection then put the hose with the u shape from new one on old one using clamps did the same thing to other side to make it work . You can see in the pics.

Anyone know where I can get a vapor tube and vapor canister? Everywhere has been out of stock from what I have seen.

did you start with a 23 or 26-gallon tank? As I understand it if you originally started with a 23-gal tank you will have to change more than just the fuel capacity setting. Possibly change the fuel tank calibration settings under Cluster Configuration. Does anyone know what to set these values to?

Has anyone done the swap on a ‘25 with the hurricane motor? I just bought a truck last Friday and it has the 23 gallon tank. Thanks

For future reference anyone who is doing this mod, that does not want to cut fuel lines. Who has the sensor, 52030443AC does not have that sensor. 68527270AB is the appropriate part for the 33g tank, and has the sensor. It is more expensive I just was not comfortable cutting the lines off myself. 20250304_093655.jpg20250304_093659.jpg20250304_093722.jpg

I'm sorry guys, know it's probably been asked before. but if switching from 23g do I need to replace my existing two straps or will they work for the new 33g tank?

The two straps will transfer over

Has anyone done a swap between two trucks? I’ve got a ‘19 rebel with a 23 gal tank and my brother has one with the 33 gal. I was curious if it’s just a whole assembly and main supply/return line swap?

Great research on this. From what I can tell 68527270AB fuel bundle line is for '22 and newer trucks. This is in the description that I see "2022-2025 Ram 1500". However, the other 52030443AC fuel bundle that has been used from the beginning has this description "2019-2024 Ram 1500". So, I wonder what criteria designates on a '22-'24 model to use the newer 68527270AB part number.

Could anyone that has needed 68527270AB due to the sensor identify if there truck is a '22 or newer and if there is anything else you can think of that might suggest why you have the sensor?
