Remote Mount Oil Filter

The wix is a rock catcher. Its efficiency is pretty terrible at 99% @ 35 microns, Fram XG2 is 99+% efficient @ 20 microns with a 20,000 mile rating. I only go about 7500 max though.

These hemis need all the help they can get.
Which WIX filter are you comparing to? Not every filter uses the same filter media
 
I have no issues getting my SRT filter in/out from the front. It won't drop down for sure
I couldn't get it through the top, but I could get it down and out lol.
I wonder if air suspension adjusts any clearance in front of the filter depending on what mdoe you have it on. I always have it on full lift for oil changes.

If you need to use a filter wrench and ratchet to install/remove a filter you are doing it wrong.
Sounds like you never removed your original filter from the factory. Tightened by the resident Silverback gorrila. Never had a filter that tight in my life.

Factory installed filter is a different story. After factory filter is remkcedz you should never need a filter wrench to remove a filter. If you do, then you over tightened it.

In my experience, they tend to grow fast. O-ring squeezes out the oil film you lubed it with, then engine heat hardens and fuses it in place. Tighten with one hand, remkcedz with two hands (maybe) or wrench.

just to remove. after 5-6K Miles of heat cycles they are never just hand tight. And also no way to get both hands around the larger filter in the stock location.

Never had an issue removing any oil filters, I have installed, during next oil change. At most I will have to use a rag for better grip, but they loosen up just fine with one hand. Always change oil with a warm engine. If trying to do it on a cold engine, yeah they can be harder

Along with, if it takes relocating your filter and spending 6 hours to do a 20 minute job, you're still doing it wrong. ;):LOL:

Oil changes aren't a race. No need to see how fast you can get it done. I take my time doing mine. Only time Ive done one in 20 minutes was because I was in a rush to get it changed before having to leave on a trip, and I forgot to change it sooner.

Depends on what we start recording at to get that 20 minutes...
I need to
* Get oil, filter, drain pan, oil udder, funnel, shop towels, wrench, and socket (always forget which one) and bring upstairs
* Move truck into position
* Raise truck up to OR2 (even longer if I need to grab a jack for non-air suspension)
* Fumble with getting the right socket to fit, throw pan and towels under truck
* Remove oil plug
* Remove oil fill cap
* Let oil drain
* Replace oil plug
* Loosen oil filer with oil udder and tubing into pan
* Replace pre-oiled filter
* Fill up oil and check level
* Re-fill used oil into 8 1qt containers
* Clean drain pan
* Clean up\throw away garbage

I take around an hour to get it done
If I had a mechanic's garage sure I could do it in 10-20 minutes if i don't have any prep work or cleanup, but majority of people don't.
Obviously these people who have garages and lifts say stupid stuff about how XYZ is easy, but they don't even stop to think about everything they have already paid for to make it fast

Fumoto valve. Attach hose, remove safety clip, open valve, drain into gallon jug, close valve, switch jugs, open valve until empty, close valve, and remove hose.

You don't put new oil in, or change oil filters lol?
Fumoto saves me a ratchet, not a ton of time 5 minutes at most.

Being competent at something doesn't mean you're messy at it. Why is that even thought to be a correlation?
Letting an oil pan drain for 6 hours or overnight is...silly. There's no ifs ands or butts about it. Three extra drops of oil out of 7 quarts makes zero difference other than being an enormous waste of time. I don't really care if people want to waste their own time, but...I've got other stuff to do and prefer not to lay on my back in the driveway for half the day when 20 minutes is plenty so I can get back out in the woods with my bow.

Only need to be on my back for about 5 minutes, if that. Don't need to lay under there watching oil drain when I can be doing other things.

This. I pull the drain plug and then go rebuild a dirtbike or take care of house projects while the ram drips the day away. I usually don't put the drain plug back in until the drips have stopped. I don’t run an uncle eds 15 minute quick lube. I run Dads OCD garage. $200/hr labor rate. 😁 to keep this on topic I also completely fill the new filter with fresh oil before I install it. Its a couple extra minutes also but a step I wont skip.

That sounds worthy of adding to the list of filter relocation virtues. (y) You can actually do that if the filter hangs vertically, but not so much if it's angled on side of the engine.
