- update - I made it to a local dealership with 11 miles to go on my 3yr/36k. There was a tech at the counter that said this is a common issue in 2019's and that once the window and frame is replaced it should be good to go. Still waiting to hear back, they said once they submit the claim it can take up to a few weeks to get a response. I had mold on the carpet so they put in a claim to replace that too. Last night we had a good rain and I realized the back seat is soaked as well so I'm going to ask about that as well.
Good luck and I hope they are able to make it right for you!

Rear window was replaced 1-6-2020 under warranty.
It has now developed the usual crack next to the slider, not all the way thru to the outside yet so no leak there.
But is is leaking alright...
Took some effort to find this (soapy water and positive pressure did not pinpoint it, due to operator error mainly)
Anyway, upper drivers side corner, have not seen anyone reporting this location for a crack so far.

so it sounds like once it cracks it may not leak from the crack itself but the rest of the window is probably warped once it cracks and can leak from any spot. I read somewhere were RAM changed the glue that was used to install the window, I have to wonder if the glass companies that do the replacements are actually using the correct glue which suppose to the window to flex some.

I too have the dreaded rear window leak on my 2019. 38,000 miles. Dealer won’t cover fixing it. This is truly unbelievable.

48k. Mine goes in sometime after November 4th when the window arrives. Dealer got it covered under the premise I had brought it to them for multiple leaks prior to 36k. There's a lot of good info in this thread.

I'm thinking about doing what this guy did. I've tried sealing the back window, replacing gasket, etc. with no luck. I'm hoping if I can see exactly where the water is coming in, I can have better luck. Its coming in up under the headliner but I can't tell from the outside so maybe the inside would give me a better idea.

We got rain here in Dallas today and when I went out to my truck, my back seats were wet from a cracked frame. 2019 with 22k miles. Will see what the McKinney dealership says on Monday AM when I take it in.

Was there first thing this morning -- told me it would take 3-5 days for a tech to see it but the 3-year clock ended in May 2022. I have the Platinum Care and the CPO so I suppose we'll see what it looks like. Anybody got any recommendations on how to try to escalate with RAM if they try to avoid?

My window started leaking again. It's been a year and a half since it was replaced under warranty. This is the first rain we've had in some time in California. I believe the warranty is only 1 year after install or is it 2?

The clock expired on my factory warranty in May but they were able to get mine covered under the Platinum Warranty Program so it’ll just cost me the $100 deductible. Much more appetising than the $1,600 + tax out of pocket…

Thanks for providing the information in this thread.

I have the same leak on my 2019 RAM Big Horn due to a cracked frame. It began recently when the truck hit 37,000 miles.

I'm hoping my extended warranty will cover it otherwise I might just get rid of the truck. This is the second problem after 36K miles. The first being the cracked exhaust flange bolts. The dealer wanted to charge me $465 to repair this, but my local mechanic did it for free when he changed my tires.

It's unbelievable how poor the quality of parts are in these vehicles when they cost so much. This is my 3rd RAM in the last 18 years, but it will probably be the last.

‘21 Limited and after towing my truck to the dealer I get the news of having the dreaded rear window leak, so they say. RF module and some other module are shot so who knows how long it will take to get those in and replaced along with the window itself. Truck started going crazy by itself and even died on me at an intersection and wouldn’t start! Fun times.

Taking no chances, just sealed the window and shark fin on my ‘22 With 2500mi. I’ll check out the 3rd brake light soon, but I’ve heard that a newer gasket is being used. I hope this gets resolved for everyone...

The best thing you can do is… pray. My SA told me I was SOL when I brought in my truck for the third time since my truck was just a few miles out of bumper to bumper warranty and that was with an extended mopar warranty.

“Ram Cares” couldn’t help me since I didn’t have an open case or appointment at the dealer, and the dealer wouldn’t spend the time to fight the fight since they didn’t see any chance of getting money from FCA. Chicken and the egg.

Sadly, unless FCA does a recall, there is no sure bet in getting this resolved through the typical channels, besides divine intervention.

The silicone sealant method I(and others) have described earlier is the least expensive and best value fix at this point.

If these trucks were having electrical fires or something safety related due to the leak, we would have this resolved for free, but it’s just a QC issue in FCA’s mind. Not worth making right.

I’ll be buying a blue oval-badged truck next time, not because they are without flaws, but simply out of principle.

I thought I was one of th lucky few who didn’t have th leak. As soon as it rained in California I noticed condensation inside my truck that turned into a foul smell. Found th leak on the passenger side. Had a appt for some other issue and brought it up the guy said they’ll take a look at it. I have a rental on there tan so let’s hope they take care of it b4 it rains more.

I was told I had a rear window leak last year. This was on a brand new 2020 that I got in the Spring of 2020, so it was only slightly over a year old at that time. All my gauges would randomly stop working properly, and then would usually be fine again after driving a bit. It ended up being stuck in the electrical issue, and then my local dealer took a look and said they needed to update the software. They did that and all was good for a short while. I had to bring it in a 2nd time for the issue starting again, and then they replaced the rear window...saying that water was getting behind the panel. Everything seemed to be okay, except that the same issue randomly happens after the temps hit around 83 degrees. Now I just went outside, and part of the rear window decided to break on its own. This is getting ridiculous. I am calling the dealer tomorrow to see if they are even going to help. I do have an extended warranty on it, so I would hope they will cover this defective truck!

We are so sorry to hear about all of this trouble with your truck! When you take your vehicle to the dealer, send us a DM! We can get a case specialist assigned to you who can help advocate for you while your vehicle is at the dealership.
