"Some permatex" is not enough, you need to do the whole top and down the sides. I had the corners crack in addition to the common slider locations.

If your frame is completely cracked through, permatex may not work. Wouldn’t hurt to put more. Also put some under the roof strips.

Im still trying to figure out how the roof strips come off I think I am damaging the little cover on the end trying to figure how to pop it off

Those strips are ONE PIECE from front windshield to rear glass. I've ordered replacement strips...one came damaged. They bend easily.

The ends snap on. I think you'll damage it if you pull it off. It's very thin metal with a coating of plastic/vinyl. The metal is c-shaped, with a flare. As soon as it bends, it kinks and creases.

They snap into place pretty easily. They don't pull out as easily.

I forget why I ordered replacements. They came in handy after a hail storm. About $100 each (or a set?). If you order some, the box is long and thin. Do not accept it if there's ANY pushed in or dented cardboard. FWIW.

I used a plastic pry tool and a flat screwdriver. They don’t unsnap very easily. You have to go underneath the entire thing there’s no cover. you will be against the paint with your tools. Just don’t do any prying where it’s visible.

One quick question its not about the same problem; for the antifreeze can I used the one I have from Motorcraft that its also 50/50 ? or will be better to get it from Mopar?

Motocraft is for fords. Use mopar

I rarely use my slider. If it cracks Im more than happy to take a solid window or a new design that wont crack. This is the Mopar backlite. Plastic and glass just dont expand and contract at the same rate so we get cracks in the plastic.

This right here. I never use it at all so I mounted my rear facing dashcam right on it. I'd gladly take a standard window with a defroster.

Hoping I don't have the issue but I'm watching. I already removed the 3rd brake light because there were small bugs trapped inside (not a great sign, right) and there was definitely moisture forming inside and the gasket was soaked. It looked like blue washer fluid from overspray. I cleaned it up and will reinspect again shortly, but this time I'll also be checking around the window and since I cleaned it last time there shouldn't be any signs.

But 100% if given the option to replace with a standard window under warranty, I'd take it. Just to avoid an issue in the future.

I hate to bring up an old thread but my 2019 limited has the dreaded rear window frame crack, local dealer opened a case in good faith, but the truck has 42k on it, bought it as a demo with 3k , glad I paid for those extended warranties that don't cover crap,, also the leather on the dash is lifting,,, I like this truck but it may time to buy a chevy,

Chevys have a similar rear window issue.

Permatex it and don’t look back
