Any of ya'll had a rambox open up while driving?

I was driving home from work tonight and the passenger side rambox apparently opened while driving. Luckily no damage, but this leaves me a little concerned.

And before any of you ask, I hadn't opened that rambox for a few days and I know it was closed completely.

Happened to me several times on my 2021 1500 limited. Took it to the dealership, they fixed it. Wasn't properly aligned.

Have you gotten any answers ? I have a 2021 that just started opening on its own as well....
My 2021 did this. Dealer fixed alignment free of charge

It is happening on my 2021 also. Several times per day. I have power running boards and I noticed that when I get out, just before the running boards retract, I hear a pop and the driver side ram box opens. Super annoying on a brand new truck!
Exactly what happened with mine. Dealer seems to have fixed it. Alignment issue apparently.

Probably just a loose fit (misalignment). It could be that it wasn’t fully latched; the only time this ever happened to me, my father-in-law hadn’t slammed it shut.
Not the case

I just traded my 2019 limited and never had this issue now I have a 2021 limited and every time I get out of the truck the drivers side pops open. Very disappointed that I’ve had this truck less than a week and it already needs to go to the dealer.
Same, 2021 limited.

So here was my experience when I took it to the stealership: I dropped it off about 8:30, explained to the tech what was happening. Showed him which box was having the trouble. He walked around the truck taking pictures which I've never noticed them to do and he mentioned it was just in case there was any damage before or after it got dropped off at the dealership. And I Left. I hear nothing all day, then about 4:45 I get a call saying, well it looks like someone tried to break into the box there are some scuff marks around the front edge. I'm like uh what? (PSA, there was NO damage to the box trust me I'm finicky like that and would have noticed.). He goes on to say that seems like it could have caused the latch to mess up. I think to myself, no. That would not cause it to RANDOMLY ELECTRONICALLY release. He goes on to say, they could warranty the electronic locking mechanism but not the damage. So I'm thinking at this point, holy *&% I am getting worried now WHAT DAMAGE? So I get to the shop and he walks me back to the truck and says I just want to show you where they tried to break in. I get there and he's like see here ? And guys I'm not kidding it was wax residue. I mean at this point I am REEEEELLY frustrated that they made me worry about some mysterious damage to my 2 month old truck. And I begin to feel like they are trying to make something up to shift the blame away from a faulty product from FCA. ANYWAY so my positive takeaway from this are at least two things. First, at the very least they DID agree to replace the locking mechanism, so who cares if they claim a bogus attempted (nonexistent break-in) I still get a replaced part even tho they won't help with the "damage"...which I'll fix btw with a shammy cloth. This way, it will either A. FIX THE PROBLEM, or B. Prove that it wasn't the break in related and perhaps they will actually address the issue. And second, possibly more important, the guy did perhaps unintentionally how me how to disengage the electronic locking component and now I know how to basically make it a good old reliable MECHANICAL lock that I can use the key with. We will see how this all plays out. But I'm just trying to wrap a silver lining around this. I KNEW the whole ordeal would be hard to go thru.

Mine is going into the dealer Friday. So I guess we will see what they say.

Mine does it now too. 1800 miles. 2020 Limited. For me its everytime I shut the truck off, get out... and by the timet he retractable steps are retracting, the box pops open. 99.9% of the time.
I have ram 1500 2021 ecodiesel Longhorne less then 4000 km and I have the same issue. The rambox on the driver side is opens by itself while driving. Sometimes the push button is not working and I have to open it with the key.
I brought to the dealership today and see what they'll say. Will keel you posted.

The service department at dealership had my truck for two and a half hours and they told me that the harness in the rambox needs to be replaced. They ordered the part, takes 5-7days to get it. I'll see how it goes after they put new harness. In the meantime they just unplug the harness in the rambox soni can open it only with the key. At least it's not gonna randomly open while driving.

That's exactly what my dealership did. I JUST dropped it off this morning to put the replacement part on. I hope this takes care of the issue. Good luck with your sitch.

Update? Did the harness replacement fix it?
Well, so far (since Monday of this week and today is only Thursday) there have been zero random openings. I also noticed that I don't have to slam it as hard to get the latch to catch. Not a scientific measurement just a casual observation. So I am cautiously optimistic that the problem has been eliminated. Now, I will also add the caveat that originally it didn't do it immediately either. I had the truck for a couple of months with light usage of the Rambox. So I won't personally call this a closed case (pun intended) until maybe three or four months have passed. But fingers crossed that it was just a bad electronic mechanism or maybe a redesign of it possibly and they only replace as problems pop up. I'm not sure what percent of trucks have Ramboxes on them but I'm betting it's not many, possibly not worth the bad press? Or how many instances do they have to have before it is mandating to be an official recall? Who knows... But if you have this problem out there try and finagle a replacement out of your dealer and see if that helps. It *seems* to have for me. Good luck all!

Thanks for the update. Mine had stopped doing it for a couple of weeks or so. The other day, fired up again. I realized that any time I opened and then closed a drivers side door, front or back, that a few seconds later I would hear the electronic latch on the RamBox release. Like clockwork. Tempted to just undo the harness (if it’s easy to get to) and use the key until I can get it fixed.

This problem started for me yesterday. It absolutely has something to do with the running boards retracting. When I exit the vehicle the RamBox door mechanism actuates (I can hear it) and the rambox opens. It usually does this twice. After closing the door the second time it usually doesn't do it again. If I open the rambox fully after it has done it the first time I have actually watched the electric lock moving while the truck is off. It is an electrical problem...100% positive. I've got it on video. I've reached out to RamCares and waiting on a call back. I will let yall know what they have to say. I can even hear something in the cab clicking when the Rambox opens. I assume this is coming from a relay in the cab that unlatches the box??

This is surprising to me since, as far as I know, there is no remote open for the rambox lids. When they are functioning correctly you have to push the button on the lid to open them. Only the lock is supposed to be powered. Maybe it's similar to the 4th gen tailgate issue when it would open when the auto locks engaged while driving. They had no remote open function either, but it seemed to be electrical.
