Ram Limited Dash issue

I contacted RamCares about the leather in my '19 Limited peeling/shrinking and this was the reply I got...NOT a happy camper :(

After further research, we do not see any coverage for this specific concern, unfortunately. However, there are 4 open recalls on your vehicle. Please visit your local dealer for the following recalls: Y78- HD High Pressure Fuel Pump, Z08-Truck Windshield Wipers, Z20-HD Ram, 2021-2022 WD, and ZB8- Truck Tailgate Latch Alignment. Once you do so, please let us know so we can apply additional support.

I agree that this issue sucks. But you're well beyond your factory warranty period. What are you expecting from them? Most if not all manufacturers would respond the same way about an issue that happens at least two years beyond the original warranty period.

I will never buy another RAM with a leather dash...only vinyl for me if I decide on a 2025 after they work out the check engine light issues several folk have posted about.

I'd hope that RAM would care about keeping customers happy to ensure future purchases...as it is, without some positive response from RAM or the dealer, this'll very likely be my last RAM, which is too bad as I really like them (except for the leather dash) :(

I don't disagree with the sentiment. But unfortunately that's not the reality. A few customers switching brands because they are unhappy with the truck they bought isn't going to affect total Ram sales. Mostly because you can bet that there are Chevy, Ford and Toyota owners who feel the same way about their trucks. Pretty much all car makers have the same attitude about individual buyers. In my opinion it's the dealerships who should bend over backwards to keep customers happy. I can only speak for myself, but if a dealership is going out of their way to keep me happy when something goes wrong I'll keep coming back to buy from them in the future. Unfortunately they can only do so much if they are fighting against corporate headquarters though.

I have a 21 Ram Limited with less than 50K in miles and my dealership won't do anything. Except replace the dash on my dime!!
Reach out to Ram Cares, they just helped me get a new dash on my 21 Limited. There was another issue of me taking it in under warranty and the tech/dealer dropping the ball. And I'm also at 31k miles. Worst case they may pay a percentage of the repair. The new dash is a different material. It's like the leather in between the glove boxes.

I have the same problem with my 2019 Limited. Called Customer Service and was told that they are replacing the Leather dashes on the 1500 Limited trucks. However mine DID NOT QUALIFY because this is only for the 1500s and mine is a 3500!! Does the dash really know the carrying/towing capacity of the truck?!

I just noticed mine is doing the same across the entire dash, I noticed a small ripple a few weeks ago and now the whole thing is coming off

I have an extended warranty I can use if RAM won’t cover it but I’m shocked how bad it is

2020 Limited garaged most of the time

Sucks, I hope they he;p you take care of it.

I guess I got lucky. I had the truck into the dealer for a cracked manifold (66k w/ Mopar extended warranty) and asked the service guy to see if Ram would help with the dash. They offered to replace it for $550 with Ram eating the remaining $800. I said yes and so far no rattles or squeaks.

Is yours the same as the original or the newer style leather?

I have a 20 limited that the leather around the gauges has shrunk and is starting to look like junk. do you guys think they would fix it?

Sure, they’ll fix it. But the fix is to replace the dash. So the better question is whether or not they’ll charge you for the fix or not. Your factory warranty has expired so it would need to be either good willed by your dealership or by Ram. Only way to find out is to ask your dealership.

And alternative would be to get estimates from local upholstery shops to see what they would charge to recover it.

I'm pissed, my dash on my 2022 is doing this as well. I'm sure the dealer will tell me to pound sand. 1000008961.jpg

Leather/Glue on a dash that gets up to 200 degrees during the summertime is not a good combination. It's not a matter of when it will fail but how long it can make it before failing.
