While paying extra for shipping (and reduce how much your saving) , I can just pull right up and pick it up from the lot. If I see any issues with paint quality, scratches, or other related issues dealer can fix it right then and there.

Not here to argue...seems like you want to keep coming up with a reason for why it's best for YOU, it doesn't work for everybody. That's all I'm trying to say. Plus, if I work with a local dealer, I'm helping my local town.

I'm not worried about MD sending me a scratched up truck. There's no reason to believe that's something that would happen. And I can get my truck without stepping off my property, speaking of saving time. But you're right, shipping would eat into my savings and I'd only be saving $5k instead of $6k. Fortunately, that's not an issue for me.

But, I'm not in the business of pretending, so let's not pretend that MD isn't well worth it for pretty much everyone. If my dealer could have come anywhere close to MD on a Laramie with Southwest Edition, I'd have ordered locally. They couldn't, just like almost everyone else.

And I didn't run around anywhere. I sent two emails and had a deal on a better truck for less money. Pretty simple stuff.

I don't know why my opinion about MD being the best deal out there bothers you so much. It's kind of weird, to be blunt.

When there's no local competition, it's tough to justify purchasing in an attempt to drive down cost. Bottom line, I couldn't support my local dealerships when none were willing to budge off MSRP. I was not going to pay ~$7k more to buy locally, that's ridiculous. Yes, time is money, but I was in the middle of an extended vacation stretch anyways so why not do a little fly-and-drive? I'd have happily shipped the truck for $5k+ savings if the timing for a trip didn't work out.

As you said, it's not one size fits all, but frankly I have more time than money. If my daily pay were $$$$ then maybe it would be a different story. Poor people problems I guess

My interest is in helping those who haven't already dug in on a decision. MD is a great option, and probably the best option for most.

You know what's funny, I've had some great experiences with a couple of big name dealers in the Harrisburg, PA area, which is very close to your location. Got plenty of contacts out of it to. Be happy to share them as well.

But i didn't do it...it wasn't worth the drive, delivery, and time for me.
