Are dealers doing orders only at MSRP or are they ordering and selling at or below invoice pricing? Thanks!
Depending on what part of the country you are in, it may vary. I was able to get 4% below invoice and others have been able to get that as well. That seems to be the best offer for an order that I have seen watching this thread.

What's the processing fee for? Never heard of that.

They all have a processing fee, it's just a matter of if it's around $2-300 or $900+ like koons is by the sounds of it. What's it for? Dealer profit I'm assuming.

The other part is way more shady to me, double dipping the destination fee ($1695) that is already on the window sticker. That is a SUPER shady practice to be involved in IMO, and they aren't the only ones doing it so watch out for that.

My local dealer has 9 Limited and the first offer was for $3000 above MSRP. Wasn’t worth it. Told them my bottom price but they did counter to meet me half way and would take off $8000 from their asking. I told them No. I’ll wait a few weeks and take another drive and stop in. I’m sure the truck I want will be there. Who know but I could be way off but it won’t hurt to try and if the truck is still there. I’m trading in a 2019 Rebel for a limited. I really liked the ecodiesel.

You considered ordering one? If your already fine with waiting it out a few weeks, why not custom order and get exactly the truck youd like.

" They all ", is a little too inclusive. My 21 Ram had no dealer fees and we just bought a 21 Grand Cherokee and no fees on it. Different dealers but both in So Cal. Maybe Cal doesn't allow it?

Yeah it's possible it isn't allowed there? Would seem strange for a dealership to not be doing it at this point, not that I agree with it but I haven't heard of any dealerships not charging a processing fee. I don't hear too much about west coast dealerships though so maybe that just isn't a thing out there and I incorrectly assumed with my blanket statement.

How did they deal otherwise on the vehicles you bought? A lot of our dealers play the game of decent dealer discount but get back $2500+ between doc fees/double dipping destination fee and other pleasant things like that.

I didn't think about ordering one and the trucks they had were all 2021. I figured I could get a better deal with 2021.

Not right now, ordering is a better deal with several dealers offering a few percentage points below invoice. If you need something right now, you are going to pay a premium for it.

Koons Ram has a processing fee of $899. They show a List price and then their WOW price, a price that you think you would pay. This price does NOT include the $899 so called processing fee AND it does not include the freight charge. The processing fee is added as well as a second destination charge to the final price.

California has a capped Doc fee, It’s the lowest in the country. So bravo to California on that one!

Average Doc fees and caps by state, Alaska does not have a broken out doc fee because by law it must be included in the vehicle price. This info is a bit dated so not everything is 100% but it is a good guide on what state does what.

"how did they deal otherwise"---The Ram was purchased in Ca 11/29/20 and was $34K plus TLD, about 13% below MSRP. The Cherokee we just purchased 10/29/21, MSRP was $44K, ( sunroof & bunch of stuff ), they gave a $2K dealer discount, 0 dealer fees, plus $4250 other discount, plus 0% financing with Chrysler Capital for 48 months. So about 13-14% below MSRP with the 0%. Had to work like a dog to get this deal though, and am glad the experience is over.

Quick question for you.... Im debating between the eTorque and the Ecodiesel. Any reason that stuck out why the switch? thanks!!

I don’t have the eTorque so I can’t give you a reason. I drive 90% on the highway and owned both F150 and Ram with V8. I was impressed with the eco and the low torque on the eco was responsive. I also found the ride on the highway was no different to my Rebel and when I needed power to pass. I got what I needed.

The two engines are apples and oranges. I love the sound of a V8 and the eco reminds me of my old army truck but with more power and it sounds great too. The gas mileage on the eco is impressive.

If money is no issue with gas. Stay with the hemi but at 16 mpg it’s hard not wanting an eco. Wife cringed I looked at another truck. I have a bad habit not keeping my trucks.

Take a ride and test it for yourself.
