Price negotiated from MSRP

Got a quote from Mike @ Lakeland on a 4x2 Big Horn (available on their lot but not the Night Edition I wanted).

MSRP $44,700
Selling price $37,700 including all rebates and discount I qualify for ($3k).

To me that didn't sound like the phenomenal deal I was looking for so I went to a local dealership in Plantation, FL and got the following:

MSRP $45,780 (Big Horn Night edition)
Selling price $37,200 (Employee price minus $3,000 rebates)

That's about $500 less than I would've paid at Lakeland for $1k more in MSRP

At this point I'm about to pull the trigger as 19% off MSRP sounds good enough to me. However I'd like to understand how the x% off invoice works?
Employee Pricing is 5% under invoice plus $200. This is before rebates and incentives.
You can find invoice pricing for your model and all factory options at one of these websites.

Thanks AK! OTD pricing truly means nothing and muddies the water when attempting to compare apples to apples deals across the country between forum members. There are way to many variables state to state and county by county with tags, taxes, title fees, dealer fees, etc. The best way to compare is what you paid BEFORE all of the other "stuff" (including destination) that cannot be controlled.
Destination charge is included in the total of both MSRP and Invoice. The FFP and EP discount price also includes destination charge.

A simple breakdown of price should be
Invoice, FFP, or EP number
- Dealer Discount
- Any Incentives or Rebates

Example
Invoice $67,558
- Dealer Discount $6,281
- Incentives or Rebates $1500, $500, $250
Total before Tax, Title, and Licensing $59,027

For the purposes of this thread it would be 19.84% off the MSRP of $73,640

If the dealer has any other made up fees ("Documentation", "S&H", "dealer prep", "shipping", etc) these should be deducted from the dealer discount.

Yeah a dealer here is only giving me 5% off MSRP for a similar package. MSRP $75030, final sale price $71725.

I have a question. I got a $1000 bonus cash allowance from FCA in email (valid til 1/4/2021) and $1500 exclusive bonus cash (valid till 02/18/2021). Can I use them both in addition to other FCA rebates?

Also how often can you get $1000 bonus cash allowance or it is a one time deal? I remember I signed up a coupe of months ago with two email addresses and received two for $100 on the same day (12th of December). I guess I can use only one of them.

Ram is still running Employee Pricing Plus promotion. Almost all Rams are a minimum of 5% off invoice before rebates or incentives.

what dealership in plantation?

That's a great price! Was it a factory order or was it on the lot? Did what you paid include any rebates or incentives and, if so, which ones? Which dealership?
It came in the week before I bought it. I found the one I bought and another north of Orlando with very similar equipment. The EP discount was around $9K or so. I also received additional discounts of close to $5K...I think $1500 was a rebate and the rest was just good old negotiation ;) I bought from Jacksonville CDJR Westside.

Can you break down the $3k in rebates? I’ve only been able to see $1,500 in rebates for a limited that I am negotiating. This was the pop up rebate on ramtrucks.com. I’m aiming for 20% off total but dealer isn’t budging off employee pricing less rebate. I’ll make one more push next week and then just order one with the exact options I want next year.

No you can only use one cash bonus award per family. They are supposed to be in addition to any other rebates. I used the 1500 and a non fca vehicle to get 2k off. I could have used a 500 dollar perkspot award but it wasnt stackable with the non fca rebate as it was another cash bonus....its the fine print that gets ya..if you are ordering a truck and call into fva incentives they will tell you whats compatible and apply it to your info...dealer had all my rebates already in computer after i called

Two years?! Please tell me the Southwest package doesn't take that long, lol.

I wanted the Southwest package but I live in NY. Dealer told me they can't trade for one beyond 100 miles. I think the only way I can get one is to fly to Texas and even then I don't know if they can sell to me since my address is NY.

I'm in PA and I just ordered a Laramie with the Southwest package from @AaronGinsburgh at Mark Dodge in Louisiana. Between the savings of the Southwest package and the price Aaron gave me I'll be getting a Laramie Southwest shipped up here and still save a little bit of money vs. ordering a Laramie Sport locally without the 12" Uconnect or Air-Suspension. And I had reached out to 15+ local dealers for quotes including Koons/Criswell.
